“We all loved the evening!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 24, 2011

We were seated on the deck. Our server was was very gracious and understanding of our butchered French. In turn, she spoke very nice English. At our table, we had beef, marlin and elk. Everyone was happy with the way each was prepared.
If we are in Val-David again, we will definitely return!

“We went twice we liked it so much!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 7, 2011

This charming little place is connected to a small inn right on the P'tit Train du Nord bike path. In summer, the terrace has a nice view out over a river. We were there in winter for some skiing and snowshoeing and went to this place for dinner twice. There are only about a dozens tables in a nice room with a wood stove and open window into the kitchen. It was warm and quiet. The server was very attentive and pleasant and spoke enough English to make-up for our meager French. We got sliced fresh baguette and a small shooter of asparagus cream for an amuse bouche. The prix fixe menu was very reasonably priced for the quality and presentation of the food provided: $30-$40 for three courses. Everything was well-made, tasty and artfully presented. I had a duo of elk that included tenderloin and what I might call a very refined shepherd's pie. My mother had a duck dish that we had to talk her out of having twice just so we could see something else on the menu! A foie gras appetizer served with a fig compote was heavenly. They also have a nice wine list, including very nice wines by the glass. I highly recommend this place if you are ever in Val David.
