We visited Fish Tales for the first time on our annual trip and loved it! Wonderful fish perfectly cooked with fries that melt in your mouth! Definitely recommend the Halibut and Chips with a few fresh prawns panfried! Oh and if you still have room you must try the Sticky Toffee Pudding! Best we'd had anywhere! Highly recommend it and if you are able ask for a seat in the garden!

2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 24, 2012

Went for dinner tonight and was confused after looking at menu online.
They offered burgers and steak as well as other items but when we got there all we got was a simple menu with fish and other seafood items.
Found out all the good stuff was for take out but they don't mention that online.
Portions were small and very greasy.
Paid $7 for a glass of wine when the whole bottle would cost $14 at the store.
Service was good though and polite.
Have lived here for 20 years and was not the best place for seafood at all.
I would suggest going to Boars head for seafood or Bugsy's in Parksville.
It was typical greasy English style and if people think this is really good seafood I would not want to eat what they think is average.
Oh, and we reserved a seat at the window and were not accomadated.
They were too busy but there were 6 empty tables around us.

“Fish and chips -- awesome”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 10, 2012

The best F&C I've had in years. The halibut so delicate, fresh and tasty. Service was great -- a big smile and a helpful attitude. The sticky caramel pudding was delicious. It felt like we were in Britain except the food was better (sorry dear old Dad!)

“Best fish on the island”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 27, 2012 via mobile

We dropped in and was lucky as all the tables were booked They slotted us in between bookings. Fast service amazing fish and chips. Price great. Pre book if your going so you don't miss out. A place I would make sure I go to next time I'm on the island.

“Excellent meal”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2012

We celebrated our son's birthday at this restaurant. They were very accommodating in making room for our group of six when we asked for reservations only about an hour before we wanted to go. They were full up, but rearranged to have us. The menu was impressive. Something for everyone. From simple fish and chips to gourmet seafood at various price levels. Everything was super fresh and tasty.
