“Decent enough restaurant”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 28, 2012

Ate lunch here before whale watching.

Great view from the terrace but there was a waiting list for outside tables so we had to eat inside.

Food was OK, nothing to complain about, but equally nothing to write home about. Serving staff not the most friendly we had come across.

“It has a view. Food is nothing special.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 27, 2012

Location: Probably its best asset. It has a two tier deck facing the main pier for a view of the sea. Lots of room inside.
Food: Average at best. The kids meal was dried out. Clearly nothing more than an annoyance to make. The seafood platter was large but greasy. Lots of deep fried things (fish balls, shrimp, scallops, fish fillets, fries). Chowder was acceptable. Stuffed sole was thin.
Verdict: Nothing to get excited about.

“Consistently good value”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 24, 2012

We ate here two years ago, and twice this summer while staying in St. Andrews.

Extensive menu - something for everyone.

Lovely dining on the deck if you wish.

Great view from the patio, However only OK service and food. Would not return as there are many other choices in St Andrews with nice patios also

“Ok, but nothing to write home about”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 18, 2012 via mobile

We have lunch in St. Andrews every year and have tried several places. This is the best in town for lunch but it is mainly because of weak competition. Kids love the burgers and fried clams. I had a bland lobster roll. If you like fish and don't want it fried you have pretty slim pickings. I feel like the portions were scaled back a bit this year but they are adequate.

Overall it is an ok place, nothing more.
