“One of our favourites”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 23, 2013

I was surprised to see the Village Bistro listed as number 8 for Kimberley. My husband and I both love to eat here, there are certainly other good restaurants in Kimberley, but the Bistro is one of the best. Jill and Rob have a fabulous establishment, and always present beautiful food and drink. The menu changes enough that it never gets boring and we really enjoy burger nights and brunch out on the patio for a change of atmosphere. We come here as a couple, in groups, and have large group events, it is always perfect.

“excellent meal in Kimberley”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 17, 2013

We were tired from a long golf game in a very challenging course and decided to treat ourselves to a good restaurant. We selected Village Bistro. As it was a warm evening, we were seated outside and Jill offered us some suggestions for wine and dinner ideas. We love having a Caesar salad and this one was amazing. Then we selected different main courses. We tried each other's food and both were excellent. Would highly recommend this restaurant; however, to be sure to enjoy it , make a reservation as it was busy. So congratulations to the Chef/Owner for his great selection of food. Will go back if every we return to Kimberley.

“Beautiful and Delicious”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 9, 2013

Friendly dining in a lovely environment. The chef's specials were absolutely wonderful, and very creative. The Indian-inspired poutine is worth the adventure alone! Unique and memorable!

“Creative Gourmet Food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 7, 2013

This was our third visit in as many years to the Village Bistro. The menu is not extensive but does change seasonally. We unfortunately dined on the final night of their winter season before they closed for a few weeks so they had run out of the two menus items my husband and I were hoping to order...the duck and the lamb. It seems every time we've dined there they have run out of a few dishes, so be warned, reserve a table for early on in the evening and cross your fingers. Last night I enjoyed the veal Marsala which was delicious and featured tender veal on a bed of spaghetti and assorted mushrooms. My husband had the meatloaf, which wasn't really meatloaf at all but a braised beef short rib dish, which he also enjoyed. If you are visiting Kimberley and wanting something other than the typical German cuisine featured at many of the other local restaurants, I highly recommend the Village Bistro.

“A wonderful five star type of restaurant.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 16, 2013

The atmosphere is exceptional - quaint but classy. The food is creatively crafted and presented, tasting as good as it looks! There are very few options for upscale restaurants in Kimberley but the Village Bistro makes up for that. Give yourself some time, thought. This is the type of service that you would expect in Europe, relaxing and paced for the perfect evening out.
