I have lived and visited Orillia for years.. have you been to the mariposa market ? have you played the Hawk Ridge Golf Course ? Have you sat in Couchiching Park ? Been to the narrows, sailed on the princess if not ...do ! Watch for celebs, goldie hawn, kate hudson,Kris Kristopherson and hockey greats like bobby orr they have all been in and around Orillia...Stay at a hotel in the city and use the casino shuttles, count O>P>P> cruisers see which there are more of..lol. If you want freindly ,happy people this is the spot. The Great War memorial is the best hospital for miles and miles the team is second to none. There are shows and cinema and museums, even a bingo hall. The restaurants are pleasing, John dory's and el castel are amoung a few come see enjoy....relax

We often go to stay in Orillia when we feel like getting away a few nights. We have stayed at the Comfort Inn which is very nice and very reasonable, the Kewadin, which we really enjoy and another hotel which used to be the Sundial...I am not sure what it is now. There is a nice variety of restaurants on the hotel strip. Downtown has some nice little shops. Casino Rama is close by and a very comfortable spot to spend the evening. Not too big and flashy like some other casinos, but rather a more homier feel with the many Native Canadian decorations around. There are some good shows available these days at the Casino as well.
