“good value for money”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 6, 2012

we stayed here for 2 days and although this hotel is only 3 stars, it deserves 4 stars.
good service, excellent food, the only thing missing is a pool. We were in a suite , with fantastic views on the roc and the island. beautifull!

Room Tip: choose a sea side view room, preferably a suite

When you arrive from the 132 east, and see Percé... wow. Then, you arrive in less then 15 sec after the "côte surprise". Lot of parking. Checking-in pretty fast. Then they offert you to buy coupons to eat diner and breakfast as a package with your reservation room. Actually, we didn't eat there because the resto was empty (4h30 pm) and we thought that if the room is empty, it is not good to eat... but around 7 pm it is getting full. (breakfast from 7$ to 15$) ohhh they gave us a little gift during our breakfast!! An orange juice for free and then... at the end... ANOTHER ONE!!

The ROOM: On the mountain side (no sea view). 140$ per night for two persons (possibility to add two other persons for 20$ plus taxes per person per night). The room look is old but nice. The only problem has been the A/C. We got a portable A/C that we had to empty the water tank manually. 2 times a day. But, they came to fix it so quickly. The beds were very comfy and the linens were of good quality.

Room Tip: You can have rooms on the sea side for 400$. A suite with two king beds and an oven. Very very sharp...

Seriously.. 3 stars??? the Riotel Percé 2 stars max !! first it's like a motel style Hotel since the best rooms as they call them ''executive'' are in a block of the main building..!!

The room was simply dirty I personnaly decides to clean the floor after seeing so many hairs on the floor the towel I use turned gray !! immagine the carpet!!! the view ..simply amasing the hotel staff didi all their best to accomode us but with the maid service gone for the night the manager had to change our bed himself because we found dirty linnens in our bed!! also the sheet you sleep on is directly on the matress nothing in between !! our room was on the top floor which is the only floor on that hotel with AC and it was 29 degrees that day ( 90 F)

Then the restaurants in percé!!!! we went across Percé to finaly decide to go to the coop since all restaurants where full.. the coop is a convenience store ...LOL... there where simply nothing to eat there...we decided to eat a a local snack bar!! immagine 100 feet from the sea and we eate frozen fried food!!!

Next morning breakfast in the hotel restaurant ..smelled like heating oil fumes where all over it was like a diesel engine was running in the kitchen!!!

food terrible ... if you plan to go to percé go but camping is still the best option and dont forget to fill you fridge first!!!

Room Tip: bring covers for the matress and a can of desinfectant for the floor + extra towells for the carpet...

3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 21, 2012

We stayed 2 nights at the Riotel in Percé in July 2012. We were in the section Pavillion. First off, we reserved from the website, and it was impossible to reserve for 2 adults and 2 children in the room. So when I made the reservation, I reserved for 4 adults thinking that some places consider children as adults. I find out when I was checking in that children stayed free and it was impossible to change our reservation so we paid the price for 4 adults. We got in late, and it was too late to find another hotel so we stayed anyway. The room was ok. Small. Outdated decor but very comfortable beds. But when we got in the room, it was HOT. No air conditionning, no ceiling fan. We opened the 2 very small windows and left the door wide open until it was time to sleep. But it was uncomfortable the first night. After leaving the windows open all day the next day and leaving the door open an hour or 2 the second night, we slept better.

The view is AMAZING. Our room had a view on Bonaventure Island. Most rooms in the main pavillion had a view on the rocher Percé.

We only dined at the restaurant at breakfast. Since a tour bus was at the hotel at the same time we were, service at the restaurant was slow because they were always serving the tour people first, which meant service for regular tourists was slow. However, the wait staff were extremely nice, amicable and apologetic for the delays.

Concerning location, the hotel is very well situated and a 5 minute walking distance from the pier where all boats leave for Bonaventure Island. So, during our 2 night stay, we didn't use our car once. It is also on the waterfront and you can reach the rocky beach from the hotel property.

Room Tip: Choose a room with air conditionning if travelling during July.

Dear reviewer,

Thank you for taking the time to write your comments on TripAdvisor. We welcome comments like yours in order for us to better ourselves. We would like to investigate more the situation that occured in regards
to the number of people in the room. We do have a policy where children stay free in the same room as the parents. Also, we would like to see what site you used to make your booking. If you could contact
me directly, I will be more than happy to go over this issue with you in order to satisfay your demand.
At Riotel Percé, we have many different types of accomodations that ranges from economy to deluxe. A room with air condionning would have satisfied your needs, especially during the hot summer months.
We try to serve everyone on the same level, bus tours or individual. We would like to apologize for the delay when you were at the restaurant.
We hope that you will consider us again in the future if you plan to visit Percé.

We enjoyed our stay very much.We stayed for three nights. From the time we checked in, till the time we checked out, it was a safe and friendly feeling. An incredible view of Perce rock and the sound of the waves made sleeping all the more better. The restaurant was pricey but the best meal I've had in a long time.
Wonderful people and atmosphere and oceanfront! We will go back for sure.

Room Tip: Ask for an ocean view room....it's worth it!

we decided to stay in Riotel Perce because of the All You Can Eat Lobster package which includes an overnight stay and breakfast. It turns out to be a nice room we got. it is a standard but facing the rock of which we can see clearly. the size is standard, but the bed is new, comfortable, pillows are soft, fluffy, and supportive to my back when reading. The bathroom has been renovated with new tiles, small though but importantly clean, we feel that we deserve it after camping in the national park. there is a small fridge, since i usually bring my favourite food that require fridging.
Finally the all you can eat, is really all you can eat.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 6, 2012

We stayed at the Riotel for 2 nights in June 2012, and it was an unforgettable experience. First of all, Perce is the prettiest little town in Canada (OK, maybe I am exaggerating a bit, but it is really a beautiful place). From the hotel you have a full view of the famous Perce Rock (one of my pictures was taken in the parking lot of the hotel). It is a less than 10 minute walk from the hotel to the pier, where you can take a chartered boat ride to Bonaventure Island. Or if you have a room with a view (like we did), you can just open the window and sit back, sip your favorite drink and relax.

The rooms are nothing fancy but clean. To be honest we didn't even notice if there was a pool or not, but who cares. The view of Perce Rock at sunset alone is worth the price.

But there is more -- on top of all this, we got an incredible deal -- for $89 per person, you get the unlimited lobster dinner, a night of stay and a breakfast, tips included! We each ate 3 lobsters, and these were the freshest, most delicious lobsters we have ever had. In some other places we paid more for just the room. I am pretty sure the deal is only available in the off or shoulder season though.

I wish we had stayed longer, and I hope we will go back some day. If you are planning a trip and thinking about staying there, don't hesitate! Book it! You will love it.
