Little gem at the top of the hill. Stayed here mid September (off-season). When we arrived we had to ring outdoor buzzer as door was locked. Desk clerk/Owner arrived at the door promptly. Made us feel at home and suggested we take a balcony view as the evening was calm and there was a full moon. Room was situated upstairs in seperate building. Room was very large and clean, but older and sparsely decorated.
View from the balcony was spectacular. We had a beautiful view of Ile Bonnaventure, the village and the rock Perce.
Breadfast in the morning was limited and pricey.
But overall, recommended to anyone travelling through this area.

Room Tip: Balcony rooms are located in seperate building next to Main Building.

What an absolutely spectacular view!! I'd say it's probably the best view in Perce. The hotel is situated at the top of the hill overlooking Perce and 'The Rock'. The hotel is on the ocean-side of the road, so there is nothing to obstruct the view. Our room had an ocean-front door and patio, and another door facing toward the parking lot. Both doors could have used a little repair (one didn't open and close well, and both had issues with the locks being tough to close), but we felt perfectly safe in this little town.

The hotel staff did try several times to push the dinner package, which we repeatedly declined, though they were nice enough when we said no. The inclusive dinner would have been very pricey, especially for a family of five.

The hotel also offers whale watching packages, though we were able to find slightly less expensive whale watching cruises on the main street down the hill.

Upon first entering the room, there was a sharp smell, possibly from a cleaner, that was bothersome enough to require us to open all of the windows and let the room air until we returned later. The room itself was clean, except for the curtain in the bathroom shower window, which had a few spots from accumulated mold. I assume it's one item that they don't launder often.

All in all, we would stay at this hotel again if we visited Perce. The view alone is worth it.

It was a surprise indeed: when you get at the top where the hotel is, you get this wonderful scenary with the Perce Rock just in front of your eyes: the personal is friendly, the suite spacious and comfortable. The restaurant has this warm atmosphere with tones of orange, made up by wood and causy light. Excellent food and good service. We slept very well and would gladly go back there!

Room Tip: Take a suite: they are very spacious, high ceiling, comfortable in a Canadian way

Had a wonderful vacation at motel La Côte Surprise!! The staff was friendly and very helpful. The room was clean and had a superb view! The food at the restaurant is quite good, but the menu doesn't change a lot so if you're difficult, you may want to eat somewhere else. The motel is located a little apart from the other motels in Percé, which is great because you don't have to worry about any tourist and noises. It is just peaceful and magical in Gaspésie. I can't wait to go back!

Great views abound in Perce but the view from our balcony has to be among the best. The manager showed us the rooms and chatted to us frequently throughout our stay. The other staff were also friendly and helpful. They had a package offer of breakfast and dinner with tips included in the price. We used this for both days we were there and enjoyed good quality 3 course meals and a cooked breakfast. The restaurant also has a great view of the island and rocher perce. The room was spacious and comfortable. It wasn't cheap but the extra we paid was worth it for a thoroughly enjoyable stay. I had to sit in the hotel lounge to use the internet as it didn't work in our room, but this was pleasant enough anyway.
