“Sleepless at Sleepy Hollow”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 2, 2011

It is a beautiful house but we were on the third floor and it was SOO HOT. The bed was also awful in the Provence Room. We also didn't like waiting and being sat at a separate table alongside the main table at breakfast. Overall I didn't enjoy it which was surprising given the ratings and awards. We stayed last year at the Athlone Inn which was WONDERFUL.

While I can understand that we have had some very hot weather recently, I am surprised that you found the room hot. Our 1905 home had the Central Air added more recently, and for the most part, the house is comfortable. Our 7 room house means that we have 14 for breakfast and the extra table in the window looking out over the garden is usually sought after....sorry you didn't like it. Had we known, we could have found a solution.

This is the most amazing house. 130 years old and beautifully decorated to reflect the grandeur of bygone days. Don and Marion are accomplished hosts and we felt free to come and go as we wished. We had a room on the 3rd floor which was comfortable in size and amenities with a dedicated bathroom both were extremely clean. The breakfast menu was a treat and my husband insists that the eggs benedict served on a croissant are a must have. I opted for something less indulgent (poached eggs and bacon) which was cooked to perfection. I can't think of anything that could have improved our stay..

We had a lovely stay at the B&B. Room was perfect. All facilities in place. B&B owners made us feel completely at home. We will definitely stay again the next time we are in Gananoque.

My boyfriend and I were passing through Gananoque and thought we would check out Sleepy Hollow Bed & Breakfast. The hosts were very welcoming and the historic house so intriguing, that we couldn't resist spending the night! Our room had a fantastic brand new whirl pool tub with complimentary wine and chocolates, and we both found the complimentary breakfast to be delicious (especially the homemade bread). The pool table and board games were a great touch as well and because the historic house is so large and a sturdy build, our stay on the third floor was perfectly quiet and comfortable (even with a family with two young kids just below us!) Overall a great stay and for what's included, a very reasonable price!

During our travelling from Toronto to Montreal we found the website of the Sleepy Hollow and we booked it for 1 night. The owner of the B&B is very helpful and very kind. It was no problem for him to carry the luggage of my girlfriend into the 1st floor.
The breakfast was just breathtaking and excellent. Because of the lovely B&B and the nice little town we decided to stay a night longer in Gananoque. Thank you for the very nice hospitality.

When we first set eyes on Sleepy Hallow we knew we were in for a treat. This lovely old house that has been lovingly restored to it's current glory sit in an ideal location in the town of Gananoque. Just up the road from where the Gananoque boat tour operates from and far enough away from the main high street (but reached within a 5 minute walk) so you wont be disturbed this B&B provides everything you could possibly ask for. We had booked late and had the last room available, but what a room. As you walked up the stair case you passed exquisite memorabilia and a full size pool table on the landing. The room was extremely comfortable and the towling robes the softest I have ever put on. The breakfast in the main dining room the next day was superb with fruit, cereal and a choice of hot dishes ( the eggs benedict were devine) and beverages. Overall not enough stars can do justice to this B&B and we will be returning in the spring.

Nice building, but rates are quite high. Be wary of the bathroom situation. We paid extra to book a room with our own bathroom. However, on arrival, we discovered that the bathroom and bedroom were all in one single room. Only a curtain separated the toilet from the bedroom. Not a comfortable situation if you want any privacy.

You were in our Travancore room that was designed with the whirlpool tub right in the room, (along with the rest of the bathroom). The design concept here was leaning to the romance of having a leisurely whirlpool while still being able to have a conversation with your partner. The photos on our web site of the room show the whirlpool beside the sitting area. We might have been able to switch your room had we known.
