My wife and I recently stayed at the ganroc hotel in gan in an attempt to save a little money and have a good time. Upon our booking, we were very satisfied that we had booked a place with a 7.9 score out of 10 fo such a low price. After all, we were a little late for a suite a the gan inn as well as some of the other hotels in the area due to the fact that it was valentines weekend and there were several couples from all over coming to enjoy the holiday. We then booked in at 89.00 and thought we had goten a steal at that price for the room, because after all, it was the room that mattered this time of year and not the location. Upon our arrival, I soon learned why this hotel still had suites available on valentines weekend, and much to the dismay of both my wife and I, it was too late to book somewhere else. The jacuzzi that was promised to us was inoperational and did not even have the plumbing completed for it, nor did it even have a place for the water to flow from. The owner insured me that he had been working furiously on the problem all day long and had only stopped working on it half an hour before I arrived due to the fact that there was no chance in him completing the task. Instead of giving me the option to opt out of the contract with him for that room, he told me that he was going to take of a whopping $10.00 off of the price for my inconvenience. (when the room was marked up 30 for the jacuzzi being there) He refused to give me a better discount than this and even refused to give me a future upgrade to that room when he finally got around to fixing the problem even when I informed him that this was the most important weekend of the winter to have the room operational. He did however ask me what time I was going to be checking out and told me that he was giving me a free breakfast with the room. I hesitantly put my signature down and solemly saunderred out to the car to inform my wife of the situation. She understood of corse, but was as saddened by the turn of events as I was. Upon our entry into the room, it appeared very nice indeed with exception of the broken apart eyesore of a tub and pungent smell of bleach that burned the eyes. The room was located near the owners dwelling and all night we dealt with people screaming at eachother in some foreign language that we could not understand. The shower was hardly large enough for one and definately not capable of an enjoyable couples shower. In addition to this, the shower head was not fully functional and it took nearly three or four minutes for the water to heat up. The smell of bleach was so overbearing that it was difficult to sleep on the linens. The appearance of the room was nice and the heater worked so well that we actually had to turn on the air conditioner in the middle of the night because it was so warm. We were in turn awoken at 6:30 AM to the sound of more foreign language screaming. This was all bearable in my opinion, but where I drew the line in disgust was when we requested the promised free breakfast, he informed us that it was no longer part of the deal and when I argued the point with him, he told us good bye. I then informed him that we would be reviewing him and he scamperred around and attempted to resolve the situation by charging me for the breakfast. We promptly left and informed him we would not be returning.

Sorry that you feel the way you do but there were options given to you and explained that it was not in our hands and the property did try to reach you at the same time the reservation was made to let you know that we are having problems with the room you have booked with us and cannot promise if we can get it rectified before you got there but a cell number was not in the reservation. Thanks.
