“Was informative but seen better than this.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2014 via mobile

Took the 2.5 hour cruise but I did not see anything spectacular. Many of the islands are populated with ugly bungalow. Only those preserved by government are still keep their natural look. Else it looks like a urban view in the middle of the river. The surroundings of Kingston city is more beautiful.

“Excellent informative cruise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2014

Booked the 5 hours cruise.
We went on an informatuive tour about the 1000 islands, saw wonderful houses on little private islands, and had a chance to visit the Boldt Castle.
Very impressibe, event if the restoration is incomplete.
Cannot believe how stupid peoples are to have vandalized such a beautiful piece of history, but this is the way if the human race....

“Great Boat Tour.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 25, 2014

My wife and I decided to take the 5 hour Boldt Castle tour because we both hadn't seen the castle for many years. The last time we were there the castle was in ruins. The Gananoque Boat is the best company I think to take this tour and they do offer shorter tours around the Thousand Islands if you wish. There boats are well equipped and are multi leveled and very smooth the sights are wonderful as are some of the cottages & mansions you see along the way. This is a must see. Highly Recommended.

“Nice way to spend the day”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2014

The Boat leaves from Gananoque, Ontario, Canada, so you will need a passport to go due to the fact that the stopover is in the USA , if you do not have your passport you can not get off the boat to visit the island. The cruise alone river is most relaxing and the sights are so nice to see. With beautiful and great homes settled on islands .The Bolt castle itself is a work of art and still in progress but is magnificent and the tour and attraction admission more than worthwhile. It would be wise to go in summer when the weather is good. It is a nice way to spend a day on the river looking at beautiful home's and then to reach Bolt castle and to be able to walk the grounds and walk through the castle and see what a man did for the love of his wife. I try and go every few years I love the boat ride and the view is breath taking...Something to put on your to do list you will not regreat it....

“Lovely on the top deck.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2014

Nice to sit outside on the top deck on a hot day. One drawback though is there are no screens up there for seeing the underwater shipwrecks. Also because the commentary is bilingual - you tend to stop listening during the French part and then don't always realize they have changed to English and you miss the first part of what they are saying.
