“Charming and comfortable”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 26, 2014

We recently spent four nights at this lovely Bed and Breakfast. The house has been magnificently restored and furnished with care by our exceptionally welcoming hosts, Agnes and Harrie. We stayed in the Heritage Room which has a double bed and a 3/4 bed with an ensuite bathroom. It is a comfortable and spacious room at the back of the house. We particularly appreciated the ability to select from three sitting times for breakfast. This flexibility allowed us to choose on a daily basis the times that best suited our plans for the day. There are four breakfast choices in addition to fresh fruit, yogurt, cereal, and fruit juices. (We tried them all, and all were equally delicious!) The location is superb. It is within walking distance of several excellent restaurants. Located centrally in the 1000 Lakes area, Gananoque has much to offer with many things to do and beautiful scenery. Once again, thanks to Harrie and Agnes for making our stay so memorable!!

My wife and I spent a few nights with Agnes and Harrie at their charming B & B "Beaver Hall."
We are veteran B & B'ers and truly loved the charm of the home built in 1826, which was matched by the hospitality of the owners, and the breakfasts. We stayed in The Garden Room and loved it.
The town Gananoque is a lovely quaint town on the Canadian side to the Saint Lawrence River and when I was initially explaining this to my wife, she was very skeptical. The whole area is refreshing.
Please feel free to read my review of Boldt Castle which is a MUST DO! when visiting this area.
If this wasn't such a long drive from home we would become regulars.

Room Tip: We stayed in The Garden Room which we really enjoyed and I believe was moderately priced.

We stayed at this bed and breakfast, along with many of our family members who were attending a wedding at the B&B next door (Sleepy Hollow). I was originally supposed to stay at Sleepy Hollow but ended up switching as the Painter's Suite was a better fit for us with more space (2 adults and 2 kids). Let me say, boy am I glad that I switched over. The hosts were welcoming, easy going and friendly, the breakfast was delicious with a great selection and Agnes was very sweet and patient with our children (3 and 9). The place was clean, full of charm with interesting pieces throughout the house, and the owners were more than accomodating, assuring that our room was prepared a bit early so that we had time to settle in and get dressed before the wedding! The room was perfect for us, with the kids sleeping on the pull out sofa and us in the bedroom, and Agnes made sure that we had an adequate amount of towels! There was also a little library with books and stuff for the kids which kept them entertained as we were unpacking. Beaver Hall is conveniently located near everything and there are pamphlets for every tourist attraction in the area to browse through! As I am all about good service, I feel that fate led me to change B&B's as the lady next door at the wedding location never smiled once, was impatient with our children and surely would have ruined our weekend! We are planning to return to see more of the sites as we ended up not having time to see everything, especially the castles which we really wanted to see, and we will most certainly be staying at Beaver Hall!

The proprietor "Agnes" goes out of her way to do things to make your stay the best. The location is good. The decor is lovely and classy antique. Breakfast is varied and quite good.

I noted that there were numerous "excellent" reviews. Believe them.

Room Tip: Garden room is huge and perfectly located..

We stayed 2 nights in the maritime room. Nicely restored property with authentic decorations. Hosts are very welcoming and provided anything you needed. A fantastic breakfast, with lots of options. Eat alone or at the big table with other guests. Close to the boat tours.

We had the pleasure of staying here for our third summer in a row and couldn't be happier with our room and with our hosts, Harrie and Agnes. The rooms are always clean, the breakfast is delicious and we really enjoy meeting other travellers in the breakfast room. A wonderful atmosphere all around!

Thank you Harrie and Agnes for the wonderful, clean and comfortable experience at your B&B.
The Garden Room was perfect and we really enjoyed our stay with you. The breakfast was delicious and hot and very well presented. It was great visiting and sharing house renovating stories along the way. We certainly enjoyed our stay with you and would recommend your B&B to everyone. We also took the Boldt Castle 5 hour tour from Gananoque and enjoyed it immensely.
