“very disappointed”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed April 4, 2013

We went to celebrate and we got there in a old room and a bad mattress, not comfortable at all, we can feel the springs! they proposed us me and my wife another room,it was worst , I had full of lady bugs infested live on the window....we could not believe this hotel and we where going there for 3 nights, because we heard nice things about that place. Very disappointed we slept there and left the next day, we needed to taste the perfect food that they have in the evening it was amazing....but I could not believe the rooms and this old not renovated hotel or bad auberge!

Room Tip: rooms and hotel need to be totally renovated, it is bad!

my husband and I spent 1 night in this hotel and it was pretty nice. We had a combo deal, 1 night with breakfast included and 20% off the restaurant. We received pretty good service from the front desk and from the waiters during breakfast.
We also tried the restaurant l'Eau a la bouche and it was a great experience. The staff was so nice. The appetizers and deserts were fantastic, but we were expecting more from the main course.
overall it was a great relaxing getaway.

We went to L'eau à la bouche to celebrate our anniversary and we were attracted to the place because of the restaurant. We did like the spa were we spent a nice day, but the room wasn't what we expected (seemed like it was an old room that wasn't taken car off for awhile). The th9ing we like though about the room is that we had a front room with a balcony where we took a drink before going to the restaurant just a few steps away from the hotel. We did like the food, but it wasn't wow (we felt that there was just something missing to make that a fantastic evening).

Even though we liked our experience, we will not be going back.

We had a room on a sunday night. We had an amazing experience many years ago, so when we saw a combo deal on the hotel and restaurant it looked like a great getaway idea. We saw some bad reviews that almost made us regret buying the deal. But we figured the hotel as a safe place to get to sleep without having to drive after a good meal. Because you don't go to l'Eau à la Bouche for a hotel room. You go for the restaurant.
We had a renovated room. One of the few with a balcony. The beige colors are not trendy these days, but the whole inn has this theme. After all it is a wooden building. The room has a good size. A new bed mattress would help, though. The renovated bathroom was nice and clean. The persons at the desk were a bit odd to deal with. Perhaps because of the sunday night and they are not the regular team, they were nice but it is as if they had no training on how to deal with customers. We are not spa lovers so I will not rate this part of the hotel.
The deal included a discount at the restaurant. It is an old house with low ceilings, an endangered species that gives a fantastic atmosphere for a tête-à-tête. Although it was a sunday night, the personnel was very competent and the attitude was classy. They have been trained well because they knew where to draw the line between being courteous and being familiar. The food was excellent from beginning to end. There is a strong emphasis on local suppliers. The wine list is a bit on the expensive side, not very large, but it has a good variety to match the menu. To our experience it is still the best restaurant in this area.
The included breakfast, at the hotel building, was basic but good. After all that we had for dinner, we were not looking for a big buffet.

Taken as a whole, the restaurant/inn is still a very good place for a lovers getaway. Little things here and there, but a good experience overall. Would we go back? Absolutely!

Room Tip: Ask for a renovated room.

I did make a reservation 3 week in advance for a suite for one night and a diner "gastronomique" to celebrate my wife anniversary . When i arrived to the hotel L'eau à la bouche around 3H30 with my confirmation number, they told me that my suite was given to an other client because a computer problem. I did pay my room 3 weeks in advance. They proposed me another room that was probably renovated in 1990. The filter in the air conditioning unit was dirty , in the bathroom the fixture was not properly installed and when you want to open the water , all the fixture was moving. At the restaurant , the foods was excellent but the timing of the food was not good at all. We were only 8 people in the restaurant on a sunday night ??? Definitively , you should avoid staying at this hotel. I was very desapointed by the overall quality of this hotel. Second class hotel and not worth the price they are asking for !

This used to be a great getaway. The restaurant is still good, but our experience was poor and the reason is the poor customer service attitude; not bad, just truly unattentive to the guests' needs. The rooms, even the renovated ones, need help (and a good interior designer). Looks like Mme Desjardins' notoriety supersedes the needs of the people who made her notorious in the first place. Reviewing the meal separately.

Room Tip: Find another Inn.

My friend and I recently visited this beautiful hotel in Sainte-Adele. It was a very nice drive from Montreal, and when we got to the hotel, our room had a nice comfortable bed and a very spacious washroom. The room had a comfy couch, TV and a fireplace. We went to spend some time at the Nordic spa that is located just behind the hotel. There is a nice hot tub, cold water bath, and sauna. There is also a resting place to sit and read magazines. Dinner was absolutely amazing. The restaurant is located next to the hotel, and the food options and the quality of the ingredients were just beyond our expectations. Breakfast was served on the main floor of the hotel and we had an amazing selections of food in the morning as well. All the ingredients were fresh and delicious. We took an advantage of the spa services in the afternoon as well. The checkout time is at noon, so we had a very relaxing morning after breakfast. What an amazing retreat!
