“Amazed!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2014

We attended with our three and five year old who only lasted about an hour of a tour that they recommend should take three. It was tough to read all the signage with two who wanted something more active. We however we're amazed! Totally worth the trip to those who have never been! Our children loved the Dino hour program for 3-5 year olds. We'll worth it! Great experience for the price.

“World Class Paleontology Museum”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2014

This is an amazing museum that has made excellent improvements since my last visit over a decade ago. The Burgess Shale display is very well done and all of the dinosaur displays are excellent - informative and dramatic. The location of this museum in the actual badlands also adds to its appeal. The Mountie outside taking photos with the tourists was definitely an added bonus for the foreign visitors on the day I attended. A must see for any dinosaur enthusiast.

“Finest Dinosaur Museum in the world”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2014

Superbly organised and presented, the museum has a backdrop of prehistoric jungle for the 200 reconstructed skeletons and Paleistic models, which include Albertosaurus, the awesome T-Rex and the tiny lovable duck-billed Lambeosaurus.
There was also a section showing how they do the field and lab work. It was indeed informative.

“Dinosaur lover? You'll love this great museum!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2014

This museum has been called the 'greatest collection of dinosaur remains in the world,' and it absolutely lives up to that title! With an entry fee of $11 for adults, the quality of exhibits and what you are able to see inside is well worth the price.

The exhibits are fantastic, the information next to them is concise and very informative and there are a TON of dinosaur skeletons and remains on display. Inside the museum, there are different areas for you to visit, such as Lords of the Land, Dinosaur Hall, Bearpaw Sea, Mammal Hall, Ice Age, etc. Some of those areas would not be best to keep the interest of very young kids, but the layout of the museum allows you to see any and all of the areas you wish in an easy to navigate way. There is even a preparation lab area where you can peek in on the preservation work that is currently underway on many of the fossils that are continually being found! The day we visited there was a preservation worker working at a table in the museum and was demonstrating how to clean the bones and fossils and doing a great job of answering questions too! :)

The museum exits into a very nice gift shop with lots of items that are very reasonably priced. We did not use the cafeteria, but there is one available. There is also an auditorium that shows free and informative videos frequently throughout the day.

If you are near Calgary or Drumheller (which is a 90 minute drive from Calgary), I highly recommend this museum! :) Take lots of pictures and enjoy this visit to the past!

“Exceeded expectations”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2014

Fantastic! Engaging and informative displays at every turn. We really enjoyed watching the paleontologists work on uncovering fossils. One of the best museums I have ever been to and I highly recommend it to other travellers! As an added bonus, they offer a great military discount.
