I live about 5 kilometers away from the hoodoos and drive past them every day. I have hiked all over the Drumheller valley for years and can say flat out that anyone who claims that hoodoos of this size and condition are commonplace likely doesn't understand what hoodoos are. These are by far the best examples you will see in the Drumheller area, although I've read some in Dinosaur provincial park are very impressive if you take a tour. The walkway is much improved with the metal stairs and barriers, since it is no longer possible for Yahoo's to climb on or carve initials into the fragile giants. My only criticism and reason for only 4 stars is the lack of decent picnic facilities. The old cookshack should be removed and in its place 4 or 5 smaller shades with picnic tables should be put in. Better ventilated outhouses would also be a plus.
