“Clean rooms, centrally located and very friendly staff.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 11, 2012 via mobile

We stayed at this motel for 3 nights and were not disappointed. The rooms were spacious enough to accommodate 3 adults a child and a large dog. It appears that renovations are in process and the rooms are updated and very clean. The bathroom in our room was still pretty run down and needs work but it was manageable. The staff was very friendly, accommodating an made our stay something to remember. I would recommend this motel and will stay at it again!

Thank you for your input. We have few remaining rooms on schedule to be renovated this fall. I am glad you enjoyed your stay with your family. Your family is certainly wonderful. We would love to have you stay again in future.

I stayed there with my family, and would go again for sure. Very friendly staff. Rooms were very neat and clean. Convenient location. Everything was a perfect fit for our our comfy stay at Econo Lodge. Complementary breakfast was great. Highly recommended!

I do NOT recommend staying at this Econo Lodge (CN825) in Drumheller, AB!
It is the worst Econo Lodge we have ever stayed in.
The rooms are not clean nor well maintained.
Upon Check –in it seemed fine. But then it began. We had reserved a single queen non-smoking suite. We were given a standard two queen bed room that was crowded. The fridge in this first room was frozen solid and unusable. Someone had left the door open all day and it was never checked. We were moved to a second room and it was very nice but rather uncomfortable at a temperature of 95F. We ran the small window AC unit for 4.5 hours and the room was still 85F. Still very uncomfortable at 9:30pm! Why management would not run the AC units all the time during the hot summer to maintain a manageable temp I don’t know. Other Econo Lodge hotels do it! The Manager had even mentioned that there was a challenge with heat in that room. The third and final room was only slightly better. At least we could get the temperature comfortable enough to fall asleep. The third room was the worst of the three for cleanliness though. The cobwebs helped slightly to distract you from the unprofessional paint job that covered the dents, cracks and light switches. The fact that the AC unit was only 12 inches from your feet when you were in bed helped cool your toes all night long. The manager did try to make amends, but only as long as it didn’t come out of the $160.00 per night fee.
Do yourself a favor and stay away from this place. Garmin GPS units direct you to a field several miles down the road. I should have listened to the GPS.

Room Tip: Go some where else!

I am sorry, your stay at our place did not meet your high expectations.

I tried to address your concerns by changing the room three times, but it all went in vain. You had a problem with all the rooms and came with a mindset that could not be satisfied. I upgraded you to our best suite (room 220) and you were still unhappy. Our guests love to stay in that suite any day. Our motel stays reasonably full in summer and majority of guests are happy with their stay. We are a motel in a small town and have kept our property in a reasonably good shape. It is a 30 year old building and we cannot make it new. We jut spent $200,000 on our property in June. I have added pictures of our newly renovated rooms for viewing. It appears that you were in our motel for a cause to spend as much time finding faults, rather than appreciate our hospitality, breakfast, generosity and patience to satisfy your demands.

I don't know what else I could have done in the circumstances. We had 41 out of 51 available rooms occupied on July 11 and all of the guests were happy, except you.

TIP: Please do not bring your high expectations when staying at a motel in a tourist destination place.

There was nothing wrong with the place, but it did feel cheaper than we expected. We've been to other Econo Lodges before and this one felt more like a motel than the others we have stayed at.
The family who runs it is very nice and helpful and the rooms itself were comfortable.

Myself and 2 friends stayed on July 26, 2012 and we had 2 rooms. Both rooms were clean, the linens very white, bed comfortable, and bathroom clean. The manager and his family were friendly, helpful and the breakfast was great. We needed a hair dryer and they provided one for us. Coffee, tea, popcorn available in lobby any time. For the cost of the room, it was excellent value and we will stayed again. ......Kathy, Edmonton, Alberta.

Room Tip: We were upstairs so it was quite. Request renovated room as that is the one we had.

This was the worst Inn/motel whatever that I have stayed in. The room smelled awful and so did the bedding. The bed was uncomfortable and woke up with a sore back. The carpet, we didn't let our kids take their shoes off, was filthy. There was french fries on the carpet along with dustbunnies and pennies. The table/chairs were dusty, the side table was sticky because there was something spilled and not cleaned. If we had a choice we would have left and stayed someplace other than this hotel. The "free breakfast" was sad, bread for toast was old and it crumbled. There was other stuff but, because we didn't get there til almost 9am, they had run out of somethings and there was just no more. The window sills had dirt and dead bugs on it and so did the airconditioner, which had only one speed. Two of the room keys we were given didn't work. It was just a horrible experience. And to top it off, the website said 130.00 dollars and we paid 224.00 dollars. The only word I can think of to describe this is......YUCK!!!! I should say the owners were nice and polite.
