I've stayed here many times over the past year and one of the best things about this hotel is that it is consistent. I always know what to expect here and nothing usually changes.
This hotel is simple but well appointed. My understanding (and experience) is most rooms are semi-suites meaning there is a couch/sitting area in the rooms, but not an enclosed bedroom. A small half-wall separates the two areas. Nonetheless, the rooms are spacious and decorated in nice brown tones. I always enjoy a king size bed here and it is comfortable, though I must say the half-size pillows are not. I usually grin and bear it with the pillows and sleep with them so I have no idea if you can call down and request better ones. Bathrooms are normal - shower/bath, toilet and sink.
Internet is provided free of charge. There is wireless in the lobby and a connection through cable in the room. There is also a business centre in a small room adjacent to the lobby with two free computers and a printer.
An enhanced continental breakfast is provided free of charge in the morning. There is juice/coffee/tea, cereal, breakfast breads, yogurt and hard boiled eggs. It has always been well stocked when I have visited and the extended hours (with early start) are always appreciated.
Fitness wise there is a workout room on the main level that while smaller than many other places, is actually quite well laid out. There are a few cardio machines and also some yoga mats to use, something I rarely see elsewhere. The pool area is basic but large with a good size pool and hot tub available for use. Both areas have been clean when I used them.
The one down-side to this hotel is the lack of a restaurant. The hotel, however, is situated close to a few places to eat but at times in the cold of winter, this can be inconvienient. Nonetheless, if you are require food there is a truck stop (which is actually quite good), a Chinese/Western place and a Subway within 2 minutes walking distance.
The hotel also provides a free shuttle to and from the Edmonton International Airport, which is located 5 minutes away by car. It's fairly easy to catch at the airport (from an assigned post) and they can arrange your way back at the hotel.
Overall this hotel is a good place to stay in the Edmonton Airport area. I find their larger rooms and free breakfast a nice compliment to their product. I have yet to really experience anything bad with this property.
