Stayed at the Nisku Inn to catch an early morning flight, as well as to stay overnight when the flight returned one week later. Selected it as it is very close to Edm Internat'l, reasonably priced, and had a pool (we were travelling with two kids).
However, in the future I will pay extra and go elsewhere. The front desk staff managed to confuse my reservation not once, not twice, but three times - claiming I had no reservation for the first night there - even AFTER I had called the SAME DAY to confirm a late arrival. The desk reception staff were largely indifferent and even rude, both on the telephone and in person. The rooms were shabby and run down; the website claim that the hotel has been renovated seems to extend only to the lobby area. Pop and ice machines were not working (I went to two different spots to get ice and pop and ended up getting ice from the bar and pop from the lobby shop).
The one bright spot was the airport shuttle in the morning - the driver was courteous and funny (and it was only 5 a.m.). However, that shuttle services more than one hotel. As such, I would just go to one of the other hotels to get the same service.
Overall, not a nightmarish experience, but I'd rather be dealt with professionally and courteously and have a tidy, efficient space, especially AFTER a long flight back from another country with two tired kids - and I'll gladly pay a bit more for that.
