“New Name, same great food!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 4, 2012

The Bombay Beat, formally Bombay Bhel has new owners but still is one of the best Indian eateries on the west coast. With the original kitchen staff, the spices will delight and the price is right. Fran and I try to go every other week by ourselves or with family and friends. Everyone loves it. Look for 20% off coupons in the Burnaby Now newspaper.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2012

Great food, best curries(i always have mine mild but im a light weight the kormas good too and rogan josh should be tried),great vegetarian menu for my boyfriend(his favourites are palak paneer/vegetaran tali),theyve a lovely wine list and even though its usually my boyfriend and I there it seems to accomodate large groups up to about twenty...ive seen alot of families in, the staff are very pleasant and it appears to be family run(ie sometimes shy teens serving but very nice)

“Not what it used to be.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 18, 2011

The food is still pretty good, but the staff and management are all new - and we miss the familiar faces greeting us as returning guests. A few changes to the decor, the menu is the same. We will go back but not as often. I don't know why the new management let go all the old wait staff.

“savory dishes”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 23, 2011

Since the indian restaurants in north vancouver have become rather bland we were happy to take up our friends offer to check out bombay bhei near their place.

The service was kinda slow and sloppy but the food was worth the wait!

I ordered the Fish Tikka - Alaskan black cod! with fries??? or salad???
The fish was really good. didn't try the fries. Highly recommended.

We also ordered the Butter Chicken, beef vindeloo and some other vegee chick pea dish.
All very unique, savory and not too hot.

“Aromas & Ambience - A Blissful Combo”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 18, 2011

A pleasant decor in an Indian restaurant (a.k.a. Bombay Beat) and you're off to a good start. You can make a meal out of the appetizers such as pani poori, bhel poori, sev poori and papri chat. For the main courses they have an excellent selection of tandoori dishes - haryali tikka is a personal favourite but for the more adventurous they also have barra kabab, a half-rack of lamb pieces in a spicy garlic papaya sauce. Instead of the perfunctory naan try a bhatura instead. Hungry yet?
