Owner description: Where History Comes to Life - stroll down the streets of our 1920s community. Our village is a combination of heritage and replica buildings on a 10-acre site. Period costumed townsfolk welcome visitors and give demonstrations in the homes, businesses and shops. Two of our large artifacts are now over 100 years old - enjoy a ride on the 1912 CW Parker Carousel and explore the restored 1912 Interurban Tram, part of a transportation system before its time.

A little town set in the past. Usually free. Entertaining. Demonstrations. Lots to look at and enjoy.

“A Step Back in Time”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2013

A park with little houses & buildings. All are original such as a bank, Barber Shop, Bakery, School house, Pharmacy, A Carousel that actually works - I believe they charge $2.00 for a ride. The piece de resistance: a Streetcar that was all refurbished with materials that mimic the past - and you can actually enter it.
We enjoyed our visit and would definitely recommend it!
One tip: If you go on the weekend, try to go when they open as it gets crowded in the afternoon.

“Burnaby village museum”

A great place for kids and adults. Lots to do and it gives a great remembrance of how things were in a quieter time at the turn of the century, before technology took over and families were together.

Thanks. We work hard to provide visitors with experiences that have learning components to them. Will pass on the operations compliment to those who work behind the scenes. Cheers!

“Enchanting Step Back In Time”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

Step back in time as you stroll around the village, located in the heart of Burnaby. I have been there many times over the years, but still love it every time. Stroll thru the restored homes, visit the 'working' blacksmith shop, the printer, the Bank, the chemist, the chinese herbalist, the music shop, the one room school, the general store and more! Volunteers wander around dressed in period clothing and encourage you to become involved, especially children.Be sure to visit the old fashioned ice cream parlour that is also known for it's lunch specials. This village is also open for Christmas and is well lit and features Father Christmas. There is also a restored carrousel (small fee to ride) and a restored streetcar. Great place to bring a picnic and just buy ice cream for the kids. Lots of free parking and lots of trees for shade in the summer.
