This review is based on our experiences over at least a dozen visits to the White Spot in the past 2 or 3 years.
We have occasionally, when over on that side of the river, stopped at the White Spot for a late lunch or early dinner. We stopped there the first time about 3 years ago, almost out of desperation - Jo Klassen's was closed - we were both very hungry and we had heard that the quality of food had improved in recent years. We were both delighted by the friendly service, the choices of serving sizes and the quality of the food. The salads have been fresh and the dressings are not overpowering but tasty and nicely balanced. The calamari very pale gold and tender with fresh homemade? Tzatziki Sauce that complimented the calamari perfectly. We've had the fish (cod) and chips and found them to be very good - great batter, delicate and crisp and very good chips. The turkey dinners are good too and so are the pasta dishes that my husband has had a few times.
It's not fine dining but it's certainly been a pleasant experience for both of us whenever we have dropped in. We are both slightly disabled senior citizens who have found the staff to be very helpful and accommodating - friendly without being intrusive. Any special request we may have is welcomed and cheerfully provided. Also we've found their suggestions to be helpful too.
