“Awesome view: eagles included”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 19, 2008

While travelling to Vancouver Island via BC Ferries, we picked up a brochure on Comox Valley.  It was October, and not peak season, so we had not booked our accommodations.  While travelling along Old Island Highway, my husband urged me to call a B&B, hopefully finding one in a quiet area.  When I called Two Eagles Lodge, we soon realized that we were just a couple of miles past their gate.  We quickly got turned around and that was one of the best decisions we made!!  Carolyn & Steve are great hosts and their new home is awesome.  There are birds everywhere, horses in their corrals, all while looking across the road at the waters of Union Bay in the Strait of Georgia. (You really can see the eagles flying over the yard and into their nest.)  We really enjoyed our two nights there, the accommodations and food are first rate and the hosts are very welcoming and helpful. Just strolling around the acreage and listening to the birds was so peaceful.  There is even an Inukshuk at the top of the driveway to welcome  you.  We have made new friends and fully intend to get back there again!

We were driving south from Campbell River and were a little late in seeking accommodation, by chance we saw the Two Eagles sign and it was our lucky day - there was a vacancy. We stayed for two nights and in all honesty it was one of the highlights of our trip. Two Eagles is in a beautiful setting, the rooms overlook Union Bay and Denman Island, the accommodations are spotless, comfortable and well decorated, but best of all are the hosts Carolyn and Steve. You will seldom meet such a congenial and "down to earth" couple. We would certainly recommend Two Eagles to everyone, all B&Bs should be this good!

I stayed at the Two Eagles Lodge for 2 nights in Aug 08, along with my husband, 7 month old daughter and my parents, who were visiting from England. I wanted to stop somewhere special and the 2 eagles certainly provided!! Carolyn and Steve are extremely gracious hosts and provided us with everything we needed for a comfortable stay.

The lodge is located right on the water of Bayne's Sound and the views from sun-up to sun down are spectacular. We found the accomodation very clean and well equipped and comfortable and would definately recommend 2 eagles to anyone who wanted to stop somewhere a little different, away from the crowds.

Having been a custom home builder for 26 years, I can truly appreciate Two Eagles Lodge for its design, setting and orientation. It shows the time, effort and focus it took to build such a wonderful place. The views are spectacular! It’s worth the trip for that alone. The farm-like setting with horses and chickens make the property feel warm and inviting. We stayed in the vacation suite (with its own kitchen) for 7 nights. It had its own balcony with a beautiful view of the Strait of Georgia!

In addition to seeing the beautiful sights and attractions that Vancouver Island has to offer, it was just as enjoyable just hanging around the lodge and reading or just relaxing.

Hosts Carolyn and Steve are as friendly and accommodating as one could imagine. You couldn’t ask for more! They took time from their busy schedule to show us around the island, and even recommended local attractions that were very entertaining and just plain fun.

The breakfasts were down home and very enjoyable. We even joined Steve and Carolyn at times for delicious dinners, some homemade wine, and fun around the campfire at night.

We would highly recommend Two Eagles Lodge to anyone who is looking for a relaxing, fun-filled vacation in a spectacular setting!!

Carolyn and Steve Touhey, American ex-pats, have done everything right to create a get-away on Vancouver Island. Newly constructed, the 3 room B & B offers rest, relaxation and simplicity, a lovely change from the bustle of Vancouver. Getting there is very simple, take the ferry to the Island, turn right and go up the coast. The view from the rooms over the bay is stunning, especially the second floor room with the deck. The second floor room is actually more of a studio apartment with kitchen, large table and chairs, and 2 queen size beds, in addition to a sofa seating & TV area. There are two individual room on the first floor, each with private bath, and a small common kitchenette off the sunroom area for lounging, relaxing, visiting, reading, whatever.

Carolyn and Steve can hook you up with fishing, and just about any other outdoor activity you can think of. The ski season appeared to have already begun when we were there in mid to late October. Skiing is about one hour away. We also visited a wonderful rodedendron garden with ferns as tall as me, and salmon jumping out of the stream. It was magical. We had a very fun evening of acoustic music at the local pub with our hosts, they seem to know everyone.

Vancouver Island is beautiful, temperate climate, lovely people.

We're hoping to get back soon

My family and I live in the Northeast of China and traveled a long way to visit Vancouver Island; however, the long trip was worth it. We loved Vancouver Island and our hosts (Stephen and Carolyn) made us feel right at home while staying at the picturesque Two Eagles Lodge. Coming from such a great distance and never having visited British Columbia, we were unsure of what to expect or what to see. Our hosts had a myriad of suggestions about what to see and helped us arrange most of our excursions. Charter fishing off of nearby Hornby Island was a definite highlight. The accommodations were fantastic! We are a family of five (3 children all under 8 years old) and therefore need some space to spread out. The spacious guest suite provided more than enough room and we made frequent use of the suite's kitchenette. Evenings spent conversing by a fire overlooking Union Bay were wonderfully relaxing. On one memorable evening our hosts arranged a "Maryland Style" crab feast - we highly recommend giving it a try! The folks at Two Eagles Lodge really know how to make sure their guests experience all that this beautiful island has to offer. We hope to come back soon!

We held our wedding reception at Two Eagles Lodge and the spectacular view added so much to the occasion. Steve and Carolyn went above and beyond our expectations to provide a special and comfortable atmosphere and they treated all of our guests with real warmth and sincerity. This is a beautiful location for a special event, family gathering or retreat and you really couldn't find a more hard working but fun loving pair to look after the details. Highly recommended!
