“Fantastic weekend”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 1, 2007

Really modern hotel, obvious everything is brand new!

Easy check-in, got in room right away, really attentive with housekeeping phone calls, however, only one person on staff makes it difficult for them to come to your room if you need something.

Tomato Tomato restaurant was delicious - highly recommend!

Only one minor complaint... Advertises that the bathrobes are terrycloth, however, they are 100% polyester.

Check-out of 10:00-11:00am a tad early!

  • Liked — Very modern kitchen and appliances, 2 plasma TVs
  • Disliked — No spa, just a small hot tub that was undergoing maintenance during our stay

4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2007

Spent a weekend at the Old House Village Hotel. It is beautifully designed. Very attractive from the outside with nice gardens in a good location next to the inlet (you can watch seals slapping their tales to attract fish to them). The suites are well laid out and look like they are off an HGTV design show. All the right colours, fixtures, furniture ect. The whole layout is great and easily accommodated 4 adults and a child.

If you are a very light sleeper, as I am, then this might not be the right place for you.

On our second night the folks in the room next to us returned from a wedding and continued the party. The building is constructed of wood and so you get to enjoy their fun without having to be in the same room. The doors to the suites automatically close when you leave and our next door neighbours were in and out of their room for hours and the constant slamming door kept me awake. When I did call the front desk at 2 am, they did come up very quickly and ask them to be quiet but it went on until 3:30 am. If only the building had been built out of concrete, it would have been nearly perfect.

Also there is a bridge over the inlet and it has a steel grated deck which causes tires to hum when going over and it takes a bit to get used to.

Their check out time of 10 am is a bit early.

The restaurant next door, Tomato Tomato, was great. All 5 of us enjoyed our meals and the servcie and ate there both nights.

Definitely a beautiful property that is very modern and up to date but light sleepers might want to stay somewhere else.

  • Liked — The beautiful design and layout of the suites
  • Disliked — The thin walls and being able to hear our neighbours party

Did some research on hotels to stay in the area and after looking at the hotel's website and other candid reviews on the internet, I decided to book with them.

You will not be disapointed.

I received the 1 bedroom suite with kitchen. It had a washer and dryer, fully stocked kitchen with appliances, 2 flat screen TVs, fireplace, wireless internet (included), balconey, big shower head and it's new!

Everything is close by to the hotel...Starbucks, Tim Horton's.....Tomato restaurant....I ate there one night....cozy restaurant right beside the hotel. The ceiling is a little low so if you're claustriphobic, this may not work well.

There is no breakfast included or provided at this hotel so if you want breakfast, you'll have to head out to find something. I went to Tim Horton's in the morning which was a few blocks away.

This hotel is clean, new, modern and chic! If you want to be comfortable with all the ammenties of home, then this is place to stay. Take a look at the pictures I took and you'll see what I mean!
