My husband and I stayed three nights in the Quarterdeck room, which had two levels and a porch overlooking the beautiful gardens. Kim and Lorne were a pleasure to get to know over our long breakfast conversations. Enjoyed their friendly cat and dog and the fresh eggs from the chicken coop. The trail from their property through the woods to the falls was spectacular. They treated like family and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Courtenay and Comox were cute, sizable towns that offered so much--hiking in Strathcona Park, kayaking, great restaurants and great scenery. Highly reccommended!

Stayed one night in Rose Cottage with our (adult) daughter. Loved the cute cottage, very nicely decorated and spotless. Breakfast, French toast, fruit, with the owners Kim and Lorne, was delicious.

My only quibbles with this B&B were: a) although we informed the hosts that the accommodation was for 3 adults, there were towels, robes, and wine glasses for only 2. This was, however, immediately rectified upon our request; b) I was unable to use the hot tub as it was just too hot (but that's just me - we keep ours at 100 degrees f).

Would definitely return and highly recommend Forbidden Plateau B & B.

  • Liked — Comfortable, clean, quiet, great hosts.
  • Disliked — Hot tub too hot, but I said that already :)

We have just returned from a stay in the lighthouse room. It has it's own seperate access but is part of the main house and a door gives access direct to the main house. The homecooked breakfast was lovely in particular the rhubarb cake. Breakfast is taken in the house with the owners who are really friendly. The hot tub in the garden is a must particularly after a long walk in Strathcona park. Sitting in the hot tub sipping wine on a summer evening cannot be beaten. You are able to take a short walk from the house to nymph falls which is a must. The huge bed is great.

Only downside was that there were no facilities to make tea or coffee in the room and although we were told that we could ask for tea or coffee at anytime it would have been nice to be able to make our own but don't let this stop you from staying here. The location is very central and on the road to Mt Washington.

We had a most relaxing stay of two nights and were made to feel right at home. We had Rose Cottage and found it to be charming and spotless. Food was very good - especially the homemade scones. The walk to the river was wonderful - just what you need after a long day's drive.

My wife and I spent two nights here and wished we could have stayed longer. Located at a secluded place near Courtenay, just outside the Nympth Falls Regional Park, this place was a gem. Food was great, and the place has a outdoors hot tub. We stayed at the Rose Cottage, which is separate from the main building and has a small patio - great for a relaxed summer evening after a tiresome hike on nearby Forbidden Plateau! We loved the quit, rural setting and its proximity to the Strathcona Provincial Park. Last, but not least, we were treated with warmth and friendliness by our hosts. We give this place our very best recommendations.

  • Liked — Its nice surroundings and the hospitality
