“great experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2008

Had a wonderful one night stay with Doris and Norbert who are very entertaining hosts. Returned a week later at short notice due to a change in plans and was made most welome again. Rooms and food are great. Only one slight niggle was that there were lots of mosquitos in the dining room and my husband and I were bitten quite badly. Don`t wear dark clothing at dinner.

We stayed at the Glenogle Lodge for one night in July and wish we could have stayed longer. The room we stayed in was clean & very comfortable. The views were fantastic. Doris is a wonderful host. The meals were FANTASTIC. We recommend this lodge highly and will be going back the first chance we get for a longer stay.

We stayed at the Glenogle Mountain Lodge in June for one night and had a really enjoyable experience. Doris was very welcoming and the views of the mountains were beautiful. We also had one of the best night's sleep on our journey around Canada, not to mention the great home made breakfast the next morning -the famous "Doris special" of oatmeal pancakes. I got a massage aswell and would highly recommend one on your stay. Enjoy!

We were greeted by Doris with a big friendly hug and a warm welcome! They really do treat their guests like family and the rooms were spotless! We enjoyed a very comfortable bed and large room with outside deck. Doris also fixed us dinner.....an unexpected delight and breakfast the next morning was equally wonderful. We found Doris and Norbert to be exceptionally friendly and caring people. We didn't use the spa facilities, so can't comment on that.

We stayed at Glenogle Lodge in July 2008. What a wonderful place: high in the hills, surrounded by forests, peace and quiet - what more could you ask for? Doris is a fantastic cook - breakfast kept us going all day, and dinner did not disappoint. Real home cooked food and plenty of it. The rooms are large, the beds are comfortable and everywhere is spotlessly clean. Thank you Doris and Norbert.

I do stay at the Glenogle Lodge on business for almost 3 years now, once a month sometimes twice.
I love the quietness and the hospitality.
The rooms are always spotless clean and i stay in a large suite with incredible views.
I do always have breakfast there and it is the best you can get in and around Golden, i`m eating out in Golden sometimes at night with bussines partners, but nothing is better than Dorises home cooking.

The dogs are actually not thight up during the day, and guests at the lodge take them for a walk all the time and you never hear them barking, they are really well behaved and friendly to everybody.

Love everything at Glenogle and always will return.

We stayed at this lodge for 3 nights in their "suite". It was a big diisappointment. The room was not clean, and the view gave unto 2 lovely dogs that were tied up day and night. We also could not sleep witht the only window open as it gave unto a wood burning power generator and we were not only smoked out but the noise was unbearable. The food was not that great because it was very greasy (breakfast and dinner) and at one point I'm sure that some of the food were leftovers. The "spa', that is to say the whirlpool was filthy, we could not use it as the water was green and the sauna to our surprise was payable (as upon booking we were told that it was all inclusive). Whenever we wanted to use the pool table and other gymn facilities we were always told how expensive the equipment was and to be very careful, which actually made us feel very uncomfortable and was taken as a discouragement to use them.

I would not recommend this place nor go back!!!
