“EE Average Except Price”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 1, 2014

Our group of eight made a reservation at EE as a treat during our ski vacation at Kicking Horse. The location on the top of the mountain and gondola ride up were quite unusual as well as the menu which offered a variety of wild game. The restaurant is nicely decorated and has a warm mountain lodge feel to it. It was quite busy and although our waitress Marie did apologize several times it took 2.5 hours for our meal. Our group had a variety of dishes cod, wild boar, ravioli, and chicken and not one said any of them were above average. This combined with the average entre price of $40+ left us all feeling underwhelmed by the whole experience. My advice is visit the EE during the day for lunch when you can enjoy the ambience and scenery at a lower price.

“Gotta Be Better for the Price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 30, 2013

Big anniversary dinner - made advanced reservation (over a week) asking for a window table. Arrived after a cold ride up the gondola (where were the blankets we normally got??) we were escorted to a table smack dab in the middle of the room. Not impressed. After mentioning our reservation we were reseated in a slightly better spot, but not the window. A quick glance over the shoulder told us why - 50 person wedding taking up the east half. Maybe they were warm, but a fire in the gorgeous fireplace would have been nice. On to the food. Appetizers were decent but small. Mains of elk and black cod - elk could have used some seasoning and black cod was perfectly cooked, Barley risotto with the meat was awful. Someone forgot the cheese and butter, Gruel. The fish was served on tomato sauteed squid - or was it rubber bands? Awful. And both plates were cold. Really?? Desert was an assortment of cheese cakes but they were far too foamy for us. At least we got comped for dessert. Service was quite nice but the food was hit-and-miss. They gotta be better for $100 a head (with wine).

Unbeatable views. Amazing place. Food has been great....at times, but sometimes the service and food times can be inconsistent. Restaurant really got better in the last year, it really got better.

After a long, cardio hike, we headed back to the Eagle's Eye Restaurant for lunch. The food was wonderful, presentation was beautiful and the view.....oh the view! Heavenly!!!
