We decided to stay at this property solely due to the proximity to the beautiful Lake of the Woods. Unfortunately, the motel room we stayed in was in desperate need of upgrading and repair. The room was quite dirty, and the bathroom fixtures were falling apart. The overall decor was 70s gone really bad. The bathroom towels were ragged and just two tiny bars of soap provided (so, bring your own shampoo and blo dryer if you are staying there).
There was also considerable highway noise during the night. The trampoline on site was in need of repair, and I wouldn't have wanted my children to use it. Generally, the grounds were very nice, but again, things in disrepair (outdoor lighting burnt out and picnic tables needing repair).
The lake is very lovely and is definately worth a visit, but unless you are into paying full motel prices for one small step up from a tent, then I would stay somewhere else.
Besides lake swimming, the other highlight of our one night in Hope was having dinner at Home Restaurant. The wait was worth it!
