“A terrific daytime outing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 12, 2014

Be prepared for a walk from the parking lot, and be prepared for a full parking lot, too. Best to go early in the day to this very popular, scenic attraction.

Use the outhouse near the parking lot because there is no bathroom along the way. Remember drinking water, too, in hotter weather.

A camera is a must...even for younger members of the family. Plenty of fun photo ops.

In addition, if you have trouble seeing in the dark or you are afraid of stumbling in the darkness of the tunnels, wear a headlamp or carry a flashlight.

Be prepared for water to drip on your head from the tunnel ceiling.

This is an invigorating walk, so be sure all members of your group are willing and able.

“Well worth the Hike”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 21, 2014

Loved the whole thing but tunnels were closed. We hiked in from the East, about 5 miles round trip. Flat grade through old growth Douglas Fir. Trail is old Kettle Valley Railroad grade and had about 1" of water on much of it but not muddy or over your shoes. Will go back with Othello Tunnels are open.

“Accessible history.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 7, 2014

We always take visitors to this series of 5 tunnels, just a short drive from Hope. An easy walk, or I sometimes bike to it. Good historical plaques. Take a flashlight if you have limited night vision. :-)

“Easy walk with great view and river access”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 29, 2013

Took a very active tween and ran around, checked out the amazing power of the river canyon and yelped in the echoing tunnels. Had some fun balancing rocks down at the river. Access to the water is near the entrance to the park.. some families with young kids throw rocks and play near the river bank. One area is safe with sandy beach for wading. Swimming not recommended.

“Hidden Gem”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 29, 2013

Take a walk back through time - it's a little bit of history with a magnificent view!
This is an EASY walk through some amazing tunnels. Watch as the river cuts through the canyon and try to imagine what it was to travel, let alone cut through the mountain to build these tunnels. You can stay for the day (bring a picnic) or do a quick jaunt there and back again. Enjoy! Oh - and it's free!
