I visited with a large group of friends. They were kind enough to split the bills for the families and to seat a table of fifteen including six kids out on the patio. The view over the golf course and Invermere toward the lake is stellar and alone worth a visit.
The food, unfortunately, does not live up to the price.
We started with the spinach salad wrapped in Prosciutto, which was a fair execution of what seemed a rather great concept. For main courses, my spouse ordered the Beef Tenderloin. The meat was nicely cooked and tender, and plated in an exciting way. I got the Grilled Salmon. Both plates were over-generously covered with potatoes, and very skimpy with other sides.
My younger child had fish and chips which were salted to the point of being inedible. You could see the sea salt in large grains in the batter. If I could go back in time, I would send the dish back to the kitchen. My elder had the grilled cheese, which was comparable to what you would get at Boston Pizza, and which also included the over-salted french fries.
We were still hungry, having had to share our dinners with the kids, and so ordered two desserts. Both were decent. The lemon tart had a nice tang, and the chocolate terrine with the salty praline ice cream was interesting.
Despite the wine being on someone else's bill, the evening came to almost $200. Next time, we will order from the lighter bites menu. While what we ordered was presented in a very haut way, the quality of the food was not worth the difference in price between the two menus.
