“Nice Gem, but overpriced”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 20, 2013

We stayed here for one night unexpectedly enroute back to Calgary. I had contracted a stomach bacteria and was not in shape to push through to Calgary that night. We originally tried the Best Western however it was full and they recommended the Coast Hillcrest. The hotel was very nicely appointed and architecturally fit very well with the area. The lobby was inviting and the staff were helpful and courteous. There were only two rooms available the night we checked in. One had a King bed and in-room Jacuzzi and the other was a room with a loft. The price for the two were approx. $240 and $360 before taxes. Our AMA membership allowed us to get the lower priced of the two for $217 (which after taxes became around $260). The room was quiet but basic. My wife and son (who is 7) had dinner in the dining room and the bill came to $40, which she found a little step for the quality and quantity (one of the meals was a childs meal).
Overall, the place is lovely and I would likely stay here again, perhaps in the winter months.

Room Tip: A room facing South is ideal as it will not face the parking lot.

The hotel is away from downtown a couple of miles, which was better for us as we were headed east. Room was spacious and very comfortable from the pillows to the bed itself. There are 2 hot tubs, we chose the one downstairs. This area also steam room and a sauna, as well as fitness equipment and showers. Very nice! Hotel is in rural area so the morning and evening sun off the mountains was terrific.

This hotel is located just a little ways out of the town of Revelstoke. Nestled amoung the trees in a secluded location just off the Hwy.

If you can, get a room with balcony and a view of Mt Begbie. Beautiful scenery and very peaceful. Our bed was comfortable and the room spacious for a hotel room.

We found the staff to be very freindly and helpful.

We had dinner on the terrace facing Mt Begbie and the food and service were good.

The hotel is rustic.

Room Tip: The rooms with a balcony facing Mt Begbie are very nice. The view is spectacular!. King size bed...

Out of town hotel with wonderful views over the surrounding mountains. The service from the front desk to room service to the restaurant and bar staff was excellent throughout our stay. We were upgraded to a balcony room with mountain views - fantastic. The room was spacious with a very comfortable king size bed. The food in the restaurant was first class - we both had spicy prawns followed by seafood fettuccine - and neither dish could be faulted.
The only downside was that when we wanted to leave a tour bus group was also departing at the same time (about 7:15 am) - we had to wait over 10 minutes for the elevator as the tour group were all based on a higher floor and the elevator defaulted to the highest floor when called - with 4 bags we had no option but to wait. A small point but it did take a little of the shine off our stay as it delayed our arrangements for the day ahead.

Room Tip: Ask for a balcony room

We drove from Vancouver to Revelstoke, with the trip taking about 7 hours (including stops along the way). Our stay here was for 2 nights as we made our way to Calgary. The hotel is outside of town, very comfortable and inviting, and the rooms are a good size. The view towards the mountains is amazing. The beds are comfortable and the balcony off the room is covered to protect from the elements. The post and beam design of the hotel is complimented with a decor that makes it feel like a country lodge. Although the outdoor hot tub provides better views, we opted for the indoor one that is located in the spa area so that we could also use the sauna - a wonderful place to soak and relax after hiking in Mt Revelstoke Pk. The dining room provides mountain vistas and the breakfast menu was varied with options for regular or small portions. The food was presented beautifully and priced well. The hotel staff was friendly and informative.

Room Tip: The rooms looking towards the mountains offer stunning views.

We loved our stay here on a drive over from Whistler. We arrived mid-afternoon and were thrilled to see the majesty of Mt. Begbie from our valley-view second floor room. The entire staff was so friendly, welcoming and knowledgable. The outdoor hot tub just outside the beautiful lobby is perfect for relaxing in the evening. The restaurant was fantastic for breakfast. The guestroom is very spacious; one great feature is the second lavatory just outside the main bathroom. Two robes were provided in our room, a very nice amenity. The grounds were beautifully landscaped and featured gorgeous flowers. Even though the hotel is east of downtown, its superb location and unobstructed views of the valley and mountains make it a peaceful, restful spot. We would love to stay here again!

Room Tip: Rooms on the second level with balcony access afford unobstructed views of the valley and Mt. Begbie...

We had come from Calgary on our way home to Vancouver. This hotel is tucked away, right off the highway above the town; however, the signage is good from either direction, so you will not miss it. The building is set in a very quiet serene environment, outside the hotel is natural and beautiful. The inside of the hotel has warm wood tones which are very calming. The views of the mountains are amazing. The staff are very professional and pleasant. Our room was large and had the most amazing bed with soft clean bedding. The bathroom fixtures were great and there was an extra sink outside of the bathroom. Two bus loads of older teens pulled in and they were on our floor - we wondered how noisy it would be; but it was quiet and peaceful. We had a lovely sleep. You have to stay here!!

Room Tip: I believe all views will give you a view of mountains, but you may ask.
