“Professional, well done tours”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 25, 2013

There are self guided tours as well as group arrangements. These tours are well done. What you would expect from BC Hydro. New turbine etc. for those dam fans.

“Impressive construction”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2012

We are from Austria and stayed in Revelstoke 2 days on our private tour through British Columbia. Our B&B host had recommended us to visit Revelstoke Dam and it is really worthwhile visiting. In Austria we have large water power stations as well, so we appreciated very much all the construction done in the 1980's. The Visitor Center has very good explanations about the river, the planning of the dam, the construction, etc.

“Slightly flawed experience”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 10, 2012

The dam itself is most impressive and worth the entry fee of the visit. The visitor centre itself is a little disappointing though. After being separated fom all personal belongings I expected to get more up close and personal with the dam's workings. In actuality one is only afforded a single view (through a window) of the turbine hall, and the dam-top viewpoint doesn't provide a view of the reservoir. Surprisingly also there is no overlook to take photographs of the dam unless one draws to the side of the road in a marked rockfall area.
