“Super friendly management. Large rooms.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 9, 2013

We stayed here for New Years and plan to stay again next year. The manager, Wilson, was great. Really friend. Knew us all by name and gave us a really nice discount on our room because it smelled a bit the first night from burned food (the smell wasn't bad and didn't last long anyways).
The rooms are really big with a nice functional kitchen. It was in a nice quiet location.
Definitely recommend it for your next trip to Revelstoke.

We had originally tried staying at the local hostel in Revelstoke, it's typically a good place to meet cool people from around the globe and make some friends for up on the mountain. We paid the $30+ each and went to the rooms, which were untidy and smelled terribly.

We ended up leaving shortly after and heading to the Alpine, it was late by this time and we really just wanted somewhere CLEAN and quiet, that's exactly what you get. Considering we'd just spent $60 on a hostel we really wish we had just bit the bullet and paid the $100 here.

As for this hotel, I would recommend it to those just passing through and looking for some place cheap to stay, or if you're spending the majority of your time on the mountain and really only use your hotel for sleeping, this is perfect.

If you're not just boarding and looking for a "Revelstoke Experience" I would not suggest this hotel.

Overall, you get what you pay for, this is a good inexpensive place to sleep with VERY friendly staff (they gave us a discount for booking a second night)

I would stay again.

As a side note, I rated the restaurant and pool 3 stars, although I did not go to either.

Also the staff is VERY helpful in regards to knowledge about the mountain and supply a nice town map at check-in.

I stayed here for one night...My pet was welcome which is always since we were moving across canada this wasn't just a holiday where we can leave our animals at home...

However the beds were HArd as a rock... my leg actually went numb if i stayed on the one side to long... where as the people i was driving with... their beds were to soft... i would of like to have switched rooms with my friends cause they liked hard beds... but i dont know if they would of been happy with that hard...

the fridge was moldy and needed to be cleaned because i guess the breaker went in the room and the fridge was turned off and door left closed... the toilet made a noise every hour or so and it scared my cat. which to be honest was funny because it had been a long drive but yeah if ur a light sleeper that might bug u... i have ear plugs so once i was asleep i was fine...

the room was warm and good for a few hours sleep. there was also enough room to park with our trailor full of stuff which was a bonus..

all in all. it was average for a motel... better then others not as good as others too... but they did give me a good rate cause we came in so late so i can't complain for cheap :)

Thank you for sharing your feedback following your recent stay with us. I was disappointed that your experience with us was not up to our usual standards. I am very disappointed that your mini fridge was not cleaned properly and I have asked my team to follow up.
I hope we have the opportunity to welcome you back to our motel. when your travels bring you back to Revelstoke
Sincerely,

This facility is a basic motel from an earlier era which is very clean albeit the rooms are quite small but the bed was very comfortable. The Alpine Inn is fair value for the money and is priced well below some of the major hotel chains in the area.. The biggest negative is that like many of the older motels in Revelstoke, the mailine of the Canadian Pacific Railway is about150 - 200 metres to the east and heavy unit and intermodal trains rumble by at all hours which can disturb sleep. Those who may be disturbed by train and street noise may want to consider a facility more distant from the railway tracks or even locations outside of the town. Our room was close to the road and railway tracks and those considering a stay here may want to request a room towards the back of the facility.

A continental breakfast is included in the room rate and this respect the Alpine Inn does provide an above average breakfast which exceeds most facilities we have stayed at. We have stayed at this facility previously and will consider staying there again however with a room somewhat more removed toward the rear simply to avoid road and railway noise. It is clean, basic and we would rate the service overall as being above average. n summary, it is fair value for the money.

Room Tip: Do try for a romm at the back of te facility.

YUK! my fam stayed here for a few nights will visiting my husband while he worked at the dam. If his company hadnt been the ones paying we would have never stayed here! Just like many other reviews we also incountered the gross pullout couch, someones old sheets still on and the couch was broken and unable to be slept on. (we stayed in #51) The walls were dirty, like someone had never wiped, old shampoo splatters on walls in bathroom and food all over walls in kitchen around garbage can. The carpet was nasty, stuck to my socks. Yes i did speak with the manager and his responce was to be expected. He was not happy i had something to say, made it clear to me that the pullout couches were not for sleeping,um what???? we ended up sleeping on the extra mattress on the livingroom floor.and when i mentioned the overall cleanliness he just kept saying "it doesnt need cleaning it needs reno's like the other suites. would have been nice if he put us in one of those. didnt use the hot tub, figured i didnt want to see how dirty it was. cable was horrible, fuzzy the onlything going for them is the free internet. also like others i had to wait at the front desk as it seems no one is ever around, called to and the answering machine said they were closed at 10am in the morning?? overall it was not pleasant,we will not stay again and we do not recomend staying if your not just in for the night and out quick the next day.

Room Tip: ask for a reno'd room,if there are any. do not stay in #51

We found this motel to be clean and well valued for the location. One has to put up with train noises thoughout the night. Great value for our one night stay on the way home from a trip in central BC. No complaints.

We had an entertaining stay in 2012 at the Alpine Inn for many reasons, but I would definitely say the main entertainment was the owner (or manager?), the so-called Wilson. Great guy, make sure you chat with him... very entertaining.

Long story short, we arrived on a relatively quiet evening, and surprisingly found an empty office where we had to shout for assistance to get our room. Wilson emerged from an apparent basement, and seemed surprised to see us.

Once we got into our room, we noticed a significant amount of (dark) human body hair in the bathtub. We promptly went back and asked Wilson to clean it. He replied by calmly saying this would be done by the next day. We believe he ended up removing the hair without washing the bathtub (we found more hair after he had supposedly cleaned it).

Being three guys, in a "suite" with a two-bed room and a sofa-bed in the "living room", one of us had to sleep on that sofa-bed (unfortunately, me). We unfolded the sofa to find dirty sheets, on various fronts: hair, particles, etc. Obviously these had not been changed for a while. I ended up sleeping on the bed with the sheets undone, given this was way too dirty. We went and complained, and not only did he change the sheets, but he put them on a nice little single bed specially transferred from god-knows-where. This was appreciated (seriously).

Oh and I almost forgot... the "kitchen" and equipment is old and limited. So plan on cooking very simple dishes (pasta). But essential stuff is available..

Turns out friendly-Wilson drives a Land Rover. I think he should be spending a little bit more on maintenance/service/cleaning and reducing his dividend jusssst a little bit. However Wilson will remain in our hearts and memories for ever...! Can't say we didn't enjoy it overall.
