“Pet friendly! ”

We truly enjoyed our stay at Glacier House Resort. Check in was simple.

They are very pet friendly. We lucked out to be traveling through during a promotion, where they waived the pet fee.

The room we had was very welcoming, with a fire place.

They have a nice pool, spa and steam room which is open until 10pm for adults or 9pm for children/families.

There are a few hiking trails into the mountains surrounding the resort. Plus ATV rentals at an additional cost.

Be Bear Aware. The staff are very informative about wildlife sightings in the area, inquire at the front desk.

We travelled in march 2014. We were there mostly because my boyfriend wanted to go mountain snowmobiling and I just wanted a retreat, go snowshoeing, reading, etc. We had an all together pleasant experience with some good and some not so good.

We stayed in the lodge. Our room was fine, and clean. We had a beautiful view of the mountains and the sunrise shining up against them. Food was delicious, specially at the bar downstairs. Free Wi-Fi in the lobby, nice pool, etc. My boyfriend really enjoyed the snowmobile experience and his guides. They were good and very friendly.

Not so good:
While my boyfriend was snowmobiling, I was planning to stay at the resort and have a few drinks, eat, read, etc. Bar only opens in the evening (not sure, but If I remember correctly, it was around 5 o'clock. As for the food, the restaurants are not opened for lunch (because most guests are there for snowmobiling and are gone for the day). So I asked that they pack me a lunch too, (sandwich, fruit, juice) and I stored it in the lobby refrigerator until lunch so I could eat, but it disappointed me. The hotel is also far from the city. at least 20$ cab fare to get downtown. Expensive trip back and forth to the city just to go browsing. If we would have realized how far it was, we would have rented a car for the week at the Kelowna airport instead of using the shuttle service. Probably would have ended up costing about the same. Checking out of the hotel was a bit of a pain. our shuttle was coming to pick us up in the very early morning. (3 or 4 am, I can't remember). so we checked out with the front desk the night before, explaining we were going to be leaving during the night. They said to leave the room keys in the room. When the time comes to leave, we make our way in the hall and try to go downstairs to the lobby to wait for the bus. Doors are locked. But there are exit ways on the side of the building (stairs outside the building). We get there, it's not cleaned off, we walk in the snow with our heavy luggage, make our way to the front of the building where it is pitch dark (they do not leave a light outside of the reception area at night), so I miss a step and almost twisted my ankle. We wait outside in the cold, because the front doors (the two sets of doors in the reception area are locked, usually the first set of doors can be unlocked so we can at least get shelter while waiting but no... both sets of doors are locked). after a while, we are worried the shuttle forgot about us, we would like to make a call, and we see there is a public phone between the two sets of doors, but again, they are locked. We can't access our room anymore, as we have now left our keys in the room. so we wait. after a while, we are cold. We walk all around in the snow again, up the stairs to have shelter upstairs in the hall. we have to come out once in a while to check if our bus is there....
Conclusion: I think they should consider leaving a light out in the front area for guests waiting for a shuttle and leave the first set of door unlocked so they have access to shelter and a phone. Also, Restaurant should be accessible during the day as not all guest are there for snowmobiling. BUT the resort itself looks nice and is very quiet and secluded spot.

We hoped for a nice 4 star hotel away from town. We ended up staying away from town in a hotel with no functioning pool (heater broke and it was covered), basic (no fridge) room with an old electric strip heater in bathroom - that really needs painting. TV was a really old cathode ray tube with very poor picture. Gas fireplace for heating overnight was disruptive with the fan sounds and light when we were trying to sleep. Basically this is a place for people mad keen on snowmobiles. Not at all what we were expecting based on the reviews.

Room Tip: One that is not heated by a gas fireplace! Check if pool is fixed.

My husband and I were very pleased with this lovely retreat. Our King room upgrade had a very large balcony, Adirondack furniture, and a beautiful view of Mt. Begbie. Peaceful and quiet - no semis rumbling by. Revelstoke town and the ski hill were an easy and short drive away. Very helpful and friendly front desk staff! We would stay here again.

Had a great stay here. Really friendly staff who answered all our questions. Comfortable and sizeable room with lovely views. Close to ski hill and town but far enough away that it was peaceful. Has a bar and restaurant and swimming pool so everything you need. Definitely recommend this place.

A group of us from Ontario spent 4 days at Glacier House Resort this past weekend to go snowmobiling in the mountains of Revelstoke. We had a great time with them. The resort was warm and inviting. From the classic snowmobiles on display, to the large crackling fireplaces in the main lobby and the bar, to the very friendly staff.
Kaz at the front desk greeted us by name with a big smile, and answered all of our questions, Emily in the snowmobile tour office that booked our reservations and looked after us (fellow Ontarians) with enthusiasm, and Mark in the sled shop that made sure the equipment worked flawlessly for us each and every day. Everyone of the staff we met were friendly and efficient and made sure we were taken care of (even when we forgot to fill out our lunch order the night before).
The rooms were large and clean with great views, and the drying room was a definite plus. No wet smelly clothes in the room, and warm dry clothes to change into the next morning.

We were a bit concerned when we heard that the resort and tour operation were under new management, but everyone went out of their way to make sure that our stay was memorable. We can't wait to go back to Glacier house and the majestic mountains.

Room Tip: We stayed in the main lodge, and all of the rooms were clean and large with great views.

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights at the end of January. Check in was great. We stayed in a King suite which is very nice, beds are comfortable, bathroom is huge. The heating source is a gas fireplace which comes on during the night. If you are not used to it it can wake you up. We were lucky that the weather was unusually warm so we shut it off the second night and slept just fine.
They have limited food options. Dinner is in the bar on the lower level. It was ok. Breakfast is a buffet on the main floor and is not the best. It serves it's purpose as there are no other options.
We hired a guide for the weekend from the Great Canadian Snowmobile Tours and they were fantastic. The conditions on the mountain were the worst they have ever been. I injured myself and could not go out the second day. They refunded by guide fee along with the extra charges for lunch - class act!!
We will definitely be back.
