We were on our way to the Okanagan and decided to spend a few days in Salmon Arm. That didn't turn out to be our greatest idea, but the Comfort Inn was the best hotel choice. The room was clean and comfortable. We had a small suite which was nice. Got the AAA discount, but the cost seemed a little excessive for Salmon Arm. They obviously just get overnighters and charge a premium rate because of it. They did knock $20 off our bill because our room got missed by the cleaners one day. They do include a breakfast, but the room was crowded and loud. Didn't go back for breakfast any other days because of that. Not relaxing. I guess it's OK if you are in a hurry.
Other than the Home Restaurant - the food is amazing and the portion sizes are ridiculous - there isn't much to say about Salmon Arm. There is no beach in Salmon Arm. How insane! We live in a city where they build man made lakes throughout, with beaches. Salmon Arm is on a huge lake, but the city council has never made any effort to dredge out the reeds and make a beach. Crazy. They would attract a lot more tourists to stay longer than one night, if they did. Sounds like they need a younger, more proactive city council.:)
If you have to stay a night in Salmon Arm, this hotel is the best in town to stay at. Rated as #1in Salmon Arm by Trip Advisor for a reason. And make sure you have a dinner and a breakfast just up the road at the Home Restaurant.
