“lovely quiet retreat”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 11, 2013

The stonehouse was tucked away at the end of a wooded area ,you could just make out the sea views We made a mistake the first time and ended up going into the ferry terminal!
Warm and satisfying meal for all and felt like beign back in a country pub restaurant in England.

“Lucky find!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 9, 2013

Stumbled upon this place after driving around the northern part of the peninsula looking at real estate. Sat outside on the patio and had the best lunch we'd had during 6 days in Vancouver and Victoria! Calamari was fantastic, I've only had better in one place and that was in Portugal. The burger was also great, and my wife loved the catch of the day and the tasty fries, which she freely dunked into the chili that came with my burger. The manager was very friendly, the portions were generous and the location between the forest and the marina was perfect. We'll make a point of returning next time we are on the island.

“Forest Hideaway”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 6, 2013

We found this to be a hidden gem, tucked away in the woods not far from the end of the road near the ferry dock. This is a great example of a lovely older home turned into an interesting eatery. There are a few rooms with just enough tables in each to keep things friendly. We were seated at a table for four that was just big enough for us to settle in and yet the room we were in was small enough to be very cozy. Three of us had the seafood chowder and it was really good. Lots of seafood with a great flavour and best of all came to the table piping hot. But again I have to wonder what’s with the little dried up pieces of bread that seem to be the norm with chowder these days. Personally I would prefer crusty french bread (or a crusty bun) with my soup! One diner had the fish and chips which he said were very tasty (a big piece of fish and lots of crispy fries). In addition to the chowder, two of us ordered appies (crab cakes and prawns) which were presented nicely and tasted great (however, the server tried to bring everything to the table at one time and was surprised when I protested that there just wasn’t enough room!!)

“Great place for dinner!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 15, 2013 via mobile

We had been hearing good things about this pub since it revelry re opened so decided to check it out. Food was great, good size portions. The menu is pretty small right now but covers enough that you will find something to eat. Nice quiet atmosphere for a relaxing dinner. They also make very good pizzas.

“New Ownership and New Life”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 10, 2013

The Stonehouse Pub has, over the years, undergone a number of ups and downs, sometimes being very good indeed and at other times being very poor. Now, after, a few months of closure, it has re-opened under new ownership. As a consequence, a friend and I visited it just the other day and were totally satisfied with both the food and the service. While the menu is quite basic at present, the servings are large and the quality of the food is excellent. Service is friendly and the atmosphere is pleasant.
