“Upscale, Casual, Comfortable - Great Value!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 22, 2014

This was a return visit and I brought family with me this time! I just love the location, convenience and airy, contemporary feel of this hotel.
STAFF: Excellent customer service from initial booking, timely follow-up emails to questions and changes, and friendly, efficient check-in and check-out. Thanks Andrew & Emma!
ROOMS: My party had 2 different rooms booked - "executive" and "ocean view". Both rooms were well appointed, clean, very comfortable king beds (2 queens also available), quiet and generously sized. There were also many thoughtful inclusions - some expected, some not - safe, coffee maker, mini-fridge, large flat panel tv, big chair with throw, robes & slippers, spa-quality shampoo, conditioner and body lotions, rain showers and big soft, fluffy towels. The main differences between the two were:
The "Executive" room overlooked a quiet side street, had a walk-in shower (no tub - clearly indicated and noted again verbally at booking).
The "OceanView King" room overlooked the water and park, was larger, had a table & 2 chairs, + small sofa and tub/shower combo with rainhead shower. You were able to open a sliding door to get fresh sea air, but there was no balcony, simply a clear protective barrier/railing so you could enjoy the views.
FACILITIES: include a well-equipped fitness center, The Haven Spa which provides top-notch services at a fair price + a full-service restaurant that is open only for lunch and dinner until 9pm (book ahead and request a window seat) + a coffee shop which offers casual snacks and a basic breakfast (sit down bacon and eggs aren't available).
LOCATION: right at the waterfront and is within easy walking distance of the downtown core. It is also about a 10-15 minute drive ($15 taxi) from the Victoria Intern't Airport and approx. 15 minute drive to the ferries.
CONS: Hard to find. The only reason I did not give this hotel a 5* rating is because the underground parking spaces are very tiny and hard to manouevre around the many posts - especially for seniors and people with large vehicles. Only other thing was the cafe - both times we went, it was short-staffed and overrun with people waiting to be served + tables were all dirty so nowhere to sit. To be fair, it was Easter weekend and it seemed everywhere in town was crazy busy.

Room Tip: If ocean views matter, it is worth the extra cost; if not, you'll be very comfortable in any roo...

We only stayed for one night due to a very early flight. We wished we could have stayed longer - it was a lovely spot. The hotel really is right on the shore - our room on the second floor had a partial ocean view. Check-in was a breeze, polite and professional. The room and bathroom was very clean and tastefully decorated. The little bowl of stones and sea glass on the dining table was a nice touch. There was wine glasses, corkscrew, mini fridge - everything we needed, even some really nice tea bags and a kettle for tea drinkers! And cream in the fridge - no fake creamer needed here. The beds were comfortable. The hotel was quiet, it didn't seem to be at capacity the night we were there. We had a delicious dinner at the on-site restaurant, and got a table by the window. Doubtful it would be that easy on a summer weekend! We arranged our check out the evening before, and the receptionist organized a wake-up call and taxi for our pick-up the next morning - all went according to plan. I would stay here again, and recommend to friends and family.

We were visiting relatives and usually stayed near downtown Victoria. After listening to my sister's recommendation about The Sidney Pier Hotel & Spa, we decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed, anything positive that were mentioned by the previous reviewers were all true. We only stayed 3 nights and too busy yet to pay a visit to the Spa which means we will have to come back. Sea view room a must.

This is the place to be for relaxation, view, fine dining and great beds. The rooms are so well appointed, tastefully decorated, clean, simply divine. The bed linens and the beds makes you want to never get out and enjoy the wonderfully quaint city that is Sidney.
Staff all friendly and very helpful.
One odd thing however is that there was NO complimentary coffee/tea bar in the lobby!! Guests had to purchase it from the deli that closed at 5 pm. I thought that was a bit out of line with the class of the hotel.

I needed a getaway from my busy life but did not have time to go away so I decided on a relaxing "ME" weekend in Sidney. I choose the Sidney Pier Hotel & Spa as I also wanted to enjoy some spa time. I had a deluxe pedicure which was amazing. The pedicure and manicure room is really cute and I love the fact that they use Butter Nail Polish (the BEST colour selections!). I had coffee and a snack in their coffee shop before I checked in to my room. The rooms are beautiful and relax and welcome you as soon as you walk in the room! The rooms are spacious and modern-cozy. I had a really cute view of the shops and ocean. The rooms have tons of space to relax and work if needed. I needed to catch up on some emails and really appreciated the comfy couch with a functional table that tucks right in so you can relax and work. How perfect! The bathrooms are luxurious with local amenities and comfy bathrobes and slippers. All of the staff here were very welcoming and friendly (genuinely so). The WIFI was strong (and free!), the parking is underground and plentiful. I had an amazing stay and can't wait to come back.

I was equally impressed with the town of Sidney as well. I was surprised at the incredible shopping and was spoiled with choice of dining options. I also managed to check out a movie at the cute retro Star Cinema. A perfect weekend, can't wait to come back!

We had family gathering and chose this waterfront property as our venue. The view and suite amenities made this a perfect choice and a few nights we had family back as many as 25 - with lots of room to accommodate our family. We chose the one bedroom suite which had two full baths, dishwasher, cooktop, convection oven and large refrigerator so we were self sufficient in our family activities. Two of our adult daughters joined us and booked the adjoining room with two queen beds which was great.

It is conveniently located to a grocery store, wine and beer (across the street) and lots of unique shops if you are into shopping.

Great restaurant and spa, park with a bandshell beside overlooking sailboats slowly sailing by with a backdrop of islands - picture perfect!

Room Tip: One bedroom is beautiful, a wonderful layout, waterfront view and thought was very well priced. We t...

Absolutely charming, well situated near airport and Swartz bay ferry terminal. Rooms are well appointed, beds are very comfortable, view on pier side beautiful. Watch out for "house dog" loves to steal snacks! Would stay again for vacation visit, for business, too short to see the island properly.
