What a unique experience. Anyone with children would really enjoy this. I was really amazed that it was all put together by volunteers.

“Dinosaur Train Not Worth the Money”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed March 24, 2014

This is a very poorly planned event. There really is no train ride. The train simply goes back and forth. You could walk to the roundhouse from the parking lot in approximately 2 minutes. The miniature train ride that you can take once you arrive is okay, but not very scenic. Lastly, the events within the Roundhouse itself could have been better. There were some poorly planned arts and crafts activities, a few sand pits, and a bouncy castle. There was also a vendor selling balloon animals, which I felt considering the cost of the event and the bogus train ride, should have been free.

This event should be avoided, especially considering there is no train ride, which was what my son was looking forward to the most. Very disappointing!!!!

Thank you for your feedback - we welcome all views so we can improve our future events. We have had excellent reviews on social media as families have commented on how their kids are thrilled to meet their Dinosaur friends from Dinosaur Train. As we are unable to travel the main rail lines, we do maximize the train trip on the track that we maintain at and adjacent to the Heritage Railway Park in Squamish. This Jim Henson themed production is delivered across the continent, and our event was monitored by the licensors this year - they gave us excellent reviews for delivery of the Dinosaur Train experience. A combination of entertainment and education, we hope the fossil digs, search for dinosaur bones, the exploration cave, crafts and train experience resonate with families searching for Spring Break adventures. We appreciate all feedback that helps us improve our events in the future. Thanks.

“Great for the kids and the family”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 27, 2013

We spent the better part of a Sunday morning walking around the park and browsing all the railway cars that were open that day. They had a miniature train ride that circles the property for an additional cost to admission. We managed to see the entire site in about 2 hours and that was with a 2 year old in tow. They do great restoration work on the trains here and it was great to see and feel their finished work. A definite must for those who enjoy trains!

“Great railway park”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 6, 2013

My son is an avid railroad buff, so we took a sidetrip tot he WCRHP after doing some climbing in Squamish. He loved taking the mini-train ride around the park, and climbing aboard the trains. The roundhouse was excellent, and he enjoyed the exhibits on the luxuries of rail travel in days gone by. Too bad we were practically the only guests visiting that day. It deserves more recognition and interest from visitors.
