“Satisfying Food and Service”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 15, 2014

This was the first time we came here. We reached around 9pm and almost restaurants were closed. The environment is cozy and the staff is polite and friendly. The food is worth with the price. The udon is recommended. The cali combo is good but the portion is quite small. This restaurant open until 10pm only and only accepted cash and debit for the time being.

“Good food, polite, quick service!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 26, 2013

As we have the good fortune to live in Valemount, we have eaten at Dduk Bae Ki House many times.
The food has always been very good with generous portions. The miso soup we had last week was equal to or better than any we have had in much larger centers and the vegetable tempura had excellent flavour! Service is extremely polite, quick and efficient in this family run business.
We are looking forward to trying their new specials.

“Hot Ramen!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 18, 2013

Cool Korean-Japanese restaurant...the waiter/owner was very prompt & friendly, while mama did the cooking in the back. There are little doorbell things on each table that you summon the server with! Never saw that before.
We had Spicy Raman ($8.95) that came in such huge bowls we could have fed 10 people with it.
The steamed Gyoza was awesomely delicious!

“Disappointing”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 10, 2013

With other TA reviews suggesting this as good Korean food my wife and I ordered the beef nd seafood hotpot for 2. The hotpot arrived boiling and was placed on a gas hotplate on our stove where the chef/owner? stirred the contents and removed the floating oil/fat from the surface as he explained it to us...........the thin slices of beef were very lean so where the fat came from is a mystery.
When we started to remove portions to eat we wondered if we got the wrong item as we saw no seafood although there was ample amounts of the beef. As we ate we found the microscopic samples of seafood as a TOTAL of 2 small shrimp (the 120-160/lb canned cocktail size) 2 1/4" size clams or oysters whatever they were and a few small strips of squid although one piece was as large as 1/2"..........The beef was marinated before cooking according to the chef but there was no hint of any Korean marinade that we could detect and it tasted exactly like boiled beef slices..........tasteless in other words with no dipping sauces of any kind (except usual soy sauce) to add flavor.
There were3 snakk side dishes provided for both of us to share consisting of a mild form of Kimchi, dark green laver type seaweed (with no sesame flavor that is typical for this item) and some interesting small boiled potatoes in some kind of unknown and flavorless sauce (?).....
The broth for the hotpot dish was the worst part next to the beef. Although I enjoy this part of the hotpot meal I did not eat the broth...........billed as spicy by the chef but it was not......but it was relatively flavorless. It contained chunks of bean curd and very thin slices of various vegetables, mushrooms and cellophane noodles; although veggies were cut so thin we could only discern onions, carrots a couple of bean sprouts and perhaps celery and zucchini.

DO NOT order the hotpot. Apparently Korean customers we saw in the restaurant like this place although they may get served differently from the table setting I saw on their table with very nice china bowls, decorated glasses and probably more authentic food to bring them back since the hotpot would never make it.
