My husband and I stayed here for one evening during our recent trip to the Celtic Colours Festival on Cape Breton. The room was large, had its own entrance, washroom, a small eating area, with a fridge, and ample space to spread out. Juana, the owner, was a terrific hostess, friendly, outgoing, and eager to please. Although she had a house full of people to serve, she was able to accommodate all for breakfast by having some in the kitchen, with others seated in the dining area. There was quite enough food, and we could help ourselves to fresh fruit salad, our choices of cereal, and different kinds of bread. We enjoyed meeting some of her other guests. One visitor, spending several days there, felt comfortable and happy enough to help serve us breakfast. Another young couple, just off the Newfoundland ferry and too early to check in, were made to feel very welcome in an adjoining living area, where they had coffee and could rest until their room was ready. We were interested in hearing about their recent travel experiences which they shared with enthusiasm. This house is located close to the Newfoundland ferry, and is within easy driving distance to some of the sights that people visit when in the general area. If we were to do it again, I would definitely book several days here, making it a home base for side trips to places like the fortress at Louisburg, the Miner's Museam, and the town of Sydney itself. Definitely worth the price and absolutely worth the stay. Thanks Juana.
