I'd visited Yarmouth many times before-- especially enjoyed watching it develop, improve the numerous facilities available to the US tourists travelling on the ferry from Portland Maine. It's full of the history of it's important situation on the Southern Shore of Nova Scotia.
But last year my friends took me to the Cape Forchu station. All I can say is " eat your heart out Peggy's cove!" That's an easy option for visitors to Halifax and it's a pretty site.
At Cape Forchu you see the true energies and majesty of the seas around their point. This is nature at it's rawest and quite breathtaking. And it has a visitors centre with refreshments
For US tourists I say that Yarmouth and Portland need your tourism. They have so much to offer the tourist Please action a return of the ferry.
For Brits,Europeans I say that Nova Scotia has a beautiful and friendly South Shore full of history and spectacular scenery--- Please do move beyond the Halifax/Lunenberg/Mahone Bay sites. This is Nova Scotia at it's proudest, best and rawest.
