“Restful 2 nights at this great B&B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 29, 2013

We stayed 2 nights in January 2013 at the Little Island Lake Guest Suite. My husband and daughter wanted to get some snowmobiling in before the rain started ! They did get out and enjoy the trails which are close by for several hours our first day and a couple hours the next day.
The Suite is very comfortable and you feel very much at home. Cynithia was very welcoming and showed us around when we arrived - everything was explained very well. The suite has it's own entrance. You are given a code for the door lock when you arrive.
The living area is small, but cozy with a nice electric fireplace. Satellite TV with a built-in DVD player... they have movies and games for guests to use. The bathroom is roomy and modern, with lots of extras - including a soft robe for each of us!. The queen bed is very comfortable. I found the electric baseboard heat a little hard to get used to - but it worked fine. Chelsea said the sofa bed was comfortable also.
I purchased the Wi-Fi ($10/night). It worked great.
No complaints at all !
If you need anything, there is a doorbell you ring and they are right there to help you, with a smile. :)
Breakfasts were wonderful. First morning we had a yummy whole grain fresh loaf of bread with jams, a yoghurt and fruit fruit dish and a poached egg with ham. Orange juice and coffee. The second morning was fruit crepes with real maple syrup and yoghurt and a poached egg with ham. Very yummy food - and again, Cynithia was very accomodating to meet our schedule. The food was very tasty and healthy!
We brought food to make easy lunches and one dinner. Everything you need is supplied. We also went to the Granite Restaurant in Bancroft (< 5 minutes). It was very good.
Quiet road out front - we went for a walk (in sprinkling rain) one day. The lake is steps away and would be wonderful in the summer. Would be great in the winter also, once it is froze.
Overall, I would highly recommend this Guest Suite (it really is more of a little apartment/suite) than a true B&B.. You can hear activities in the main house - but nothing that would keep me away in the future. Loved it and will be back!
Linda, Rob & Chelsea.

Thank you for taking the time to write such a thorough reveiw of our Guest Suite. You are accurate to say that it is more of an Apartment/Suite than a traditional Bed and Breakfast. The thing that sets us apart, as you mentioned, is the private entrance and complete self-contained 1 bedroom apartment. Yet, you also have the advantage of a personally prepared breakfast brought to you in the privacy of your Guest Suite (Room Service). We are pleased that you enjoyed the homemade breakfasts, found the Guest Suite Cozy and felt you had everything you needed to prepare your meals in the Guest Suites kitchen. We look forward to hosting you all again sometime.

My girlfriend and I spent two nights at the Moffitts guest suite and felt right at home from the time we arrived until the time we left. The suite has all the comforts and conveniences of home which makes your time there very relaxing. The sitting area with the TV and electric fireplace was a cozy spot to sit back and forget about "real life" as a university student. Each morning, at the time of our choice, we were served a beautiful and delicious breakfast along with an all important pot of coffee. Our time spent was short and sweet but we want to return to enjoy the area during a summer month. We highly suggest this suite to anyone who wants an at home feel, outstanding service, brilliant breakfasts, stunning location and amazing accommodations. Everyone should get to experience time spent at the Little Island Lake Guest Suite.

Peaceful is only one of the words we would use to describe our stay. Very easy to locate and you will not find more wonderful hosts then Rod & Cynthia. The place was spotless and whatever you required was just a ring away. There was a modern kitchen, bathroom and fabulous mattress! Our family of four fit comfortably. With fresh fallen snow, it was a winter wonderland. A great find and stay anytime of the year!

We wont to personally thank the Moffits. Our stay was wonderful from the beautiful landscape to the cosy " Like Home" accomidations. Their hospitality was great and comforting. The breakfast was amazing and was more of a piece of art rather than food. Thanks to the Moffits we will defenitly be staying again!

It was a pleasure to host Rick and Megan, free of charge, as part of the Bed & Breakfasts for Vets through bbcanada program. We greatly appreciate what our veterans and Military personal do for our freedom in Canada and we are happy to give back in this way. Cynthia and Rod and family

A perfect host; a perfect suite; a perfect location. Cynthia's place is a hotel experience, with a homely feel. Cynthia has designed the suite, the check in process, and amenities to suit all needs, which made us feel extremely welcome and at home. Her recommendations and promotion of the local area was greatly appreciated; and her breakfast was amazingly presented, delicious, and wholesome. We highly recommend!

Ellie & Kailum were a delight to host. I enjoyed watching them experience Northern Canada with such interest. Thank you for choosing Little Island Lake Guest Suite as your place of accommodations and to share a little of Australia with us. Cynthia

My husband booked this B&B for our honeymoon. What an amazing place. It was so comfortable. We had a very nice and relaxing time. The breakfasts were amazing. Cynthia was very friendly and gave advice on things to see in the area. The suite was private, but we could always ring the bell if we needed anything. There is a private beach area for guests to use. We received so much more service than we expected considering the very reasonable price....My husband definitely gets lots of "brownie points" for finding these wonderful accommodations.

We agree with absolutely everything previously said about this guest suite. At the end of our 5 day motorbike ride, two days spent in this quiet, private, well appointed suite were just what we needed. Thank you Cynthia and Rod and your lovely family your for your gracious hospitality.
The breakfasts were amazing and the lake was a gem. We will try to return.
