“Lovely weekend getaway”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 30, 2012

Had a wonderful time at PK with my extended family.

What a beautiful resort!! Looks like a HUGE improvement from the old place based on the pictures I saw online. The grounds are gorgeous, complete with a sand beach, hot tub, tennis court and a lovely fountain in the front.

Our two bedroom, 3 bathroom (one with a jacuzzi tub), two floor cabin was well appointed. The kitchen had everything we needed. We really enjoyed hanging out around our wood burning fire (firewood was free of charge) and would have sat outside by the bonfire had it not been raining. The muskoka room had a great view of the lake and was a nice place to read.

The owner and his family went out of their way to make us feel welcome and even took us out on their boat!

Although we did not have a chance to try dinner as there was a wedding function the same night, Sunday brunch was delicious. The dining room is absolutely beautiful and I look forward to the upcoming lounge/bar area the next time we stay at PK. We are also curious about what the spa is going to look like and look forward to trying it out.

For anyone who wants a real cottage experience with a little "extra", this is a great place to go. We look forward to our next stay in the winter.

There for Jess' wedding and it was amazing.

Renovated cabins and facilities all around a private cove off Muskoka Lake. Main check in cabin had a restaurant open through out the day. Common beach area, with nightly bonfires and classic guitar rock. Lots of boats and recreactional activities, the kids were out in the paddle boats every morning.

Bill was super friendly and knew how to provide service and special attention to his guests. We asked if they had cards and he had them delivered in minutes. There was always someone there to help.

Compared to Toronto prices, this place was an affordable getaway, only a 2 hour drive north of Toronto. I would recommend the Northlander Train, but well it's best not to mention the Northlander around these parts.

Our cabin was 2 stories, with its own beach and dock. 3 washrooms, big common area and small kitchen. Perfect for a family. Plates and cups and such included. We asked for BBQ and they set one up infront of our cabin. There was a stocked coffee maker, with bathroom amenities, even housekeeping service. This is a professionally run resort.

I loved the service, the grounds, the cabins. The food was good too. Finished off with a poutine bar. Not sure about the butter tarts - best to ask a local.

Room Tip: Abby 30 was great. Call and ask questions, the staff is helpful when booking.

We just had our wedding at Patterson-Kaye Lodge and I have to say, we had an amazing time. The owners and staff were helpful, professional and treated our guests like family. They were more than accommodating and worked with us to create our special day. We couldn't have asked for anything more. Thank you to Bill, Pam and Glenn and all the staff of PK Lodge for all of their hard work, creativity and patience. If you are looking for a wedding venue that thinks out of the box, caters to your vision and does it with a joke and a smile this is the venue for you!

The lodge is gone. The family friendly feel is gone. The charm is gone. This is our 4th consecutive year at PK. I had also gone as a child. The previous owners, Brian and Erin were great. Activities were awesome. Corn roast, super. Sadly all of this is now missing. The new owner would be drinking and cursing on the patio well into the night. My kids heard too. The food was OK. Service, not bad. Chef, very friendly and went out of his way to ensure we were satisfied. Menu is terribly expensive though.

It seems that all of the money invested into the new "resort" went into the restaurant. Although I was glad to have flat screen tv's this year! They tore down laundry and changing facilities and are currently building a Panini Bar by the pool? Yeah thats just what I want...Plus, where is the spa?

The resort seemed empty at times. I am sure there have been numerous cancellations because of the changes.

This is no longer the PK we loved. We will be going elsewhere next year. And judging from other people's opinions who were also staying there at the same time, they will be too.

A sad end for a previously wonderful place. Bye PK.

Room Tip: Have stayed in the Scotia, Mary and Waterview. All are good.

Went for my wife's 40th birthday dinner. It took half an hour for our drink order apitizers took another 45 minutes. The scallops were fantastic but the crab lollipops were very bready. The wife had to send her steak back for being underdone, when it came back it was extremely overcooked. The lamb was prepared nicely. Our waitress was doing her absolute best to try to make us happy. But with the failure in the kitchen and the apparent lack of service it was not her fault. In short we will not be going back. Which is sad as my wife and I has our wedding reception there 11 years ago

The new restaurant is beautiful. Service is ok. But the resort is not the same. Kayak rentals are $29.99/day. The kayak had a big hole in the bottom and leaked. Seadoos were parked at the beach, making it difficult to swim at the dock. No common gathering area. Very disappointing after wonderful years at PK.

We have been going to PK for 10 years. Sometimes going twice a year. It has lost its family feel and care about the guests. We cancelled this year because the service during the year was terrible. There was a request for deposits which exceeded the amount on the web. When I called to ask there was no apology from the front desk manager, just a oh must have been a mistake you are fine. When I asked to have a menu sent to me that seemed to be a big deal. We won't being going back, too bad it was nice while it lasted.
