“great, friendly staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 12, 2012

I stayed here for the first time with my family just recently. We had always chosen the Days Inn across the highway but have given up on them.

Every staff member that we encountered was extremely friendly and helpful. Probably the best service I can ever remember. We stayed for just one night and in addition to the Continental breakfast, they also offered a free BBQ dinner. We had some tasty burgers, chips and canned pop free of charge. Very nice touch.

This hotel is perpendicular to the 401. The Holiday Inn faces directly at the highway and we didn't want to take the risk of being on that side of the hotel. Our room was nicely finished but was a little on the narrow side. We had intended to use a blow up mattress, but there wasn't enough room to use it. No big deal. The large screen tv was very nice. If I had to complain about anything it would be the unit ventilator (A/C). It made sounds like a bell tolling every time it turned on and off. The bathroom vanity was also really high, but that is just an oddity and not a real problem. I am an Architect, so I see certain things different ways.

The breakfast room is a converted guest room, so it is a bit awkward if there are more than a few people there at a time. The serving areas are broken into 3 small counters, so you have to stop at each one to get fed. The food was good but I kept things simple with toast and yogurt.

Overall, for less than $100 it was a very good stay. We will stay here again next summer on our annual family vacation.

stayed overnight with the family while visiting the area and had a very pleasant experience. checkin was smooth, the rooms spacious and impeccably clean. The added amenities such as a fridge and microwave are a bonus and a proper coffee maker defenitely a plus. we found something for everyone at breakfast and empty dishes were replenished speedily. staff in general were very friendly and accommodating. will certainly recommend and stay there again when in teh area.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2012

I stayed at the Comfort Inn overnight while in Brockville on business. My employer maintains an online reservation system similar to Expedia, and provides choices that are within the company's guidelines in terms of price. I usually stay at other brands when traveling, and had some reservations about staying at the Comfort Inn. Check in was smooth and the front desk clerk was polite and accommodating. The room was clean and the bed very comfortable. The work desk/space was adequate. Since I was spending the following day outside in 35-degree heat, I was pleased that there was a small fridge to cool my water in. I had a car full of technical equipment that I didn't want to leave outside overnight, and having direct access to the parking area through sliding glass doors was very helpful. Breakfast was included and was basic, but okay. The amenities were tyical of a Comfort Inn (no restaurant, no pool, etc.) but the quality of the room was more like a Hilton Garden Inn or a Courtyard by Marriott. I will definitely stay here again when traveling in the area.

This is an above average Comfort Inn with helpful staff and clean large rooms. They even offer free popcorn in the evening and on July 4 had a complimentary barbeque for guests. It is located near several fast food restaurants and a grocery store so not in a scenic part of town, but convenient to the center.

Room was large with sofa, desk, microwave and fridge. Soft Sheets, firm bed. Breakfast included bacon, eggs, potatoes, yogurt, toast, bagels, pastires, peanut butter, cerial. Grocery store and restaurants in walking distance. Not right downtown though, out by the highway.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 10, 2012

A friend and I were visiting Brockville on a short stay and chose the Comfort Inn based on the other Trip Advisor reviews. I could not have been more pleased with the quality and cleanliness of the room and the friendly service. There was a very nice breakfast included in our stay which, to our surprise, included some warm options. I would say that I was a bit frustrated that the morning receptionist did not provide me with an invoice when I checked out as she was more interested in chatting with the regulars over a cup of coffee than doing her desk duties, and I did think it odd that there were some guests that appeared to actually live at the hotel, but overall it was a pleasant stay and we will likely re-book at the same place the next time we are in Brockville.

Room Tip: Main floor rooms have a walk-out to the parking area.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 4, 2012

We were given the weekend rate on a Monday night, so the value was excellent. Check in and check out were really slow, due to a computer problem and we were both tired after a long day.

Best feature is the hallway. It is very clean and modern, wood paneled in places and well lit. The room wasn't really large enough for the two queen beds, so access around them was tight. Bathroom had a nifty indirect night light placed under the sink. Nice touch. Wired internet access had the speed of dial up, plus a just a tad faster.

Staff were all very friendly. Fruit and popcorn available in lobby upon arrival. Extra coffee packets in the room.

Breakfast was only average. Biggest problem, the dining area seats about 18 and, when filled, it is terribly congested. When we were there the hotel seemed to have only about 20% occupancy. I can only imagine breakfast when they are totally full. Room needs to be double the size.
