1 of 5 stars Reviewed March 24, 2013

This was a horrible hotel/motel experience. This establishment was beyond sub-par. The rooms were dirty, the bed mattresses were covered in plastic (I assume for bed bugs?), which leads to a very uneasy sleep as the very fine sheet used to cover the plastic left me feeling like I was sleeping in some sort of dingy hospital. Smutty porn was a part of the free basic cable (definitely NOT a place to bring children), which clearly outlines the type of clientele the establishment is anticipating. The halls were filthy with bags of garbage left both inside AND outside the exits for the entire duration of my stay. The entire building smelled of stale cigarettes, and when I went to check out (at 9:45am), I needed to get someone from the restaurant to knock of the door of the back room, as the attendant was not answering the "courtesy" phone. This person then came out from some back room in dirty pyjamas, wiping sleep from his eyes, looking annoyed that I had asked the restaurant to get him. Perhaps I should have left without paying? Zero would have been about all I was interested in paying for my stay anyway. I will not be returning, nor will I ever suggest anyone to stay here.
The only nice part of this place was the land it rests on. There is a beautiful trail that runs behind the building all the way to Moosonee.

Room Tip: Do NOT stay here, then you'll find a good room.

Tonight me and my two friend came to the adventure in to sleep amd igloos whhen we came inn, it looked nice we got unpacked took a shower and we had water problem so i got out made my hair and the mirroir fell in my face. there is mold on the windows the base bords are full of black mold, and the bed have sand and blood in them. The fire alarm doesent work and neither does the fire Extinguisher. service is terrible the hot tub was dirty and on top of the bathroom there is a platform full of beer cans cigarettes and broken items. Would Recommend going in town finding somewhere better.

We have stayed at the North Adventure every year, most years several times each year, for the last 9 years. Tonight I tried to reserve a room and was refused because we had four people!!! We have never had issues befor staying in the two double bed rooms with four people. I asked for the owners name to contact them about this and Ken, the manager, refused!!!??
Very upset! We have stayed loyal visitors through horrible staffing, poor service and terriblely kept rooms and hot tub. This is the last straw! I will never recomed this hotel to any of my friends or family ever again. There are 16 in our snowmobiling group, all our families ride and have been to the hotel in the past, NEVER AGAIN!!

We spent a week in February 2013 at the North Adventure Inn and had a great time. The room was very welcoming and we enjoyed sitting by the fireplace and just talking, watching TV and having a few beverages. The staff were pleasant and the owner, Ken, was very attentive to our needs and always greated us when he saw us. The bar was a great place to relax and play a game of pool or just meet new people who were travelling. The cook made tasty creative meals for us and also came and spoke with us to ensure we were happy with our meal. They owner and staff provided us with very personalized service and made us feel very welcome and at home. The location for us was perfect because it was directly on the snowmobile trail and all we had to do was start up our sleds in the heated garage they provide and off we went for a fun day in the most amazing scenery a person could ask for. I would highly recommend The North Adventure Inn to other people it was a wonderful experience and we plan to vacation there again!!! Thanks to the owner and staff for all they did to make us feel welcome.

Room Tip: We stayed in a room in the back of the hotel, which provided spectacular scenery from the french doo...

We recently stayed here as our first night travelling across Canada. It is dog friendly, a lovely property and the owner is very accommodating. Our only complaint was that there was a hockey team and they were directly above us. The management quickly stopped the noise. I would recommend staying perhaps in the igloo if you need a quiet night of sleep.

5 Years ago we stayed at this Inn and in an Igloo, we found it to be clean and comfortable and we had a great time. However we booked into an Igloo for the Aug.25/26 weekend and what a nightmare. The lobby was dirty and had a musty smell. The grass around the main building and around the Igloos was knee high and when we reached our Igloo out back it was the same way. When I got out of the vehicle I almost stepped on an Ice Bucket (I suppose it was from the room) then when we went into the Igloo I was shocked. The beds were messed us and when my husband moved the blankets to check for bed bugs, a few moths flew out. The couch was full of stains, the fridge was full of pizza and KFC Chicken, the microwave door stood open and had a bowl of something in it, the bathroom was a mess and there were wet towels on the floor. However the absolute worst part was the smell and the black mold on the walls and ceiling. We went back to report to the little lad working the front desk that the room was unacceptable and to give credit where credit was do, he tried to show us another Igloo (not as messy but still smelt of mildew) and some indoor rooms. We knew we were in trouble however when he knocked on the door before he opened it to show us. We read the reviews and did our homework before driving 9 hours to get there and it was very disappointing to encounter the nightmare we did. Thankfully we arrived early enough in the day that we could find other accomodations that were suitable. We travel quite a bit and are not fussy as long as the rooms are clean we never complain but this is an outrage and I don't know how this Inn stays in business.

Room Tip: Do not believe everything you read. If you don't mind a little mold and mildew, leftover food a...

Dear Ms. Tammy Ferrigan,

I returned from my vacation on Monday August 27, 2012.
As usual I went on Trip Advisor to see my guest comments, and I read your comments.
I sincerely apologize for your experience at the North Adventure Inn. I agree with what you expressed, and believe me, I would react just like you if I experienced the room condition as you did.
Since yesterday, I have had meetings with my staff and here is how I can explain (no excuse) you the circumstances relating to your experience.
Since past month, all my Igloos are on refurbishing and maintenance schedule, and before I left for my vacation few weeks ago these rooms were placed as out of order or non rentable rooms. I was informed that these rooms were used by the maintenance crew during their breaks. However, for some odd reason the room status was changed in the computer and it was rented out to you. I personally apologize for this error.
As you will notice from the preceding comments on Trip Advisor, my staff and I take a great pride in guest service and guest comfort. I will go distance to ensure that my guests are getting the best possible service along with clean & comfortable room.
Please accept my deepest apology for this unfortunate incident, and please let me know what I can do to invite you back to experience the very best of our HOSPITALITY at the North Adventure Inn.
Thank you for your understanding of this unfortunate event.
Best Regards.

Vijay
