“Wait until they finish renovating”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 10, 2014

I would stay away until they are done with their "renovations". You could clearly tell that they opened the resort promptly to begin making money without attempting to put any finishing touches on the rooms that were being booked. Our bathroom had pencil markings from where the bathtub was fitted, scuff marks all over the walls, a gaping hole in the toilet that hadn't been filled and a large odd blue stain on the bedsheets. The pool has a 10 person limit so if a family of 6 with 4 people sitting on the seats is there, you and your family-will not, not to mention that instead of fixing the jets, they simply covered the pool outside and declared it out of service. This "resort" with their "amenities" are non existent. The arcade room is nothing but plastic covered gaming machines with dust all over them while the room is torn apart. Don't book unless you plan on doing groceries and cooking on "vacation", there is no bar, no restaurant, so you have to go to a different resort to enjoy any breakfast or food. We went to exchange our pool key at one point, and the front desk attendant was on break, but apparently there was no coverage. We had to wait until they were off break to be able to exchange our pool key to get back into our room.

Thank you for the review. I am certainly disappointed to see that you did not enjoy your stay. As you can see below we have been receiving great reviews on Living Water. We apologize you didn't experience this. I am not quite sure the days you visited us, but the pool has a 100 foot waterslide that is open Friday evenings, Saturday and Sunday with 3 lifeguards on duty that accommodates 125 persons.. With the midweek we are monitoring usage to determine the times that guards and associates are needed. The Arcade room is currently not open, but should open this week. Also, our Tapas Restaurant and lounge, Agua is set to open this week. We hope that you come back to visit us again soon.

Our family of 4 went as a timeshare exchange from Interval International. The resort in the exchange book is still called "Cranberry Waterfront Suites", but the resort is now actually called "Living Water Resort". We went from Dec 15-22 for a pre-Christmas holiday and ski trip.
We had a 2 bedroom unit in the newly built section. It was very nice. The only downfall was a side view of the property and no balcony. I had requested a view of Georgian Bay but they weren't able to accommodate this. This wasn't a problem because at this time of year we would only be looking at snow instead of sparkling water. We didn't miss a sunrise or sunset because there were no visible signs of the sun the entire week due to very cold and snowy weather :) The staff were very friendly and accommodating and we all felt right at home from day 1. Upon arrival we were greeted by Lori who is very warm, bubbly and felt like an old friend who was happy to see us walk through the door. The front staff employees were all equally friendly and do their job extremely well. The welcome wine & cheese party was wonderful and got us in the vacation mode. What set this resort apart from any I've ever been to was the way they looked after us when a horrible snow storm took place the night before we left and carried into the morning of our departure Dec 22. Check out was 10am...we went down to the front desk and called twice to stall our checkout while deciding whether it was safe to leave. The 3 ladies and 1 gentleman at the front desk between 9am and 1pm (I'm sorry but I don't have their names) were wonderful and never made us feel like we were being a nuisance. We were offered the room for an additional overnight stay if we needed it at an amazing discount. By 1pm we had made the decision to tackle our 3 hour drive home to Niagara and were not charged for staying in the room for the additional 3 hours. We truly felt that they cared about our safety and well-being. Even though we are at the end of our timeshare exchange program we hope to have the opportunity to go back again. We love Collingwood, Blue Mountain and "Living Water Resort"

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the "new" section...but not all have a balcony. No front mat to put wet...

I can't tell you how fun it was reading your review! It's the comments about the property and the way our dedicated team of associates handled the poor weather situation. I am glad that you found our two bedroom units functional for your needs during your stay. We are receiving great comments about them already and we look for that to continue going forward. The wine and cheese party is also getting nice comments and we like that it put you in vacation mode right away.
We look forward to you visiting us again and thanks for the support of Living Water Resort & Residences.

We stayed here 5 nights for a post Christmas family skiing trip to Blue Mountain. We checked out New Year's day.
We've been to Cranberry many times before. We usually stay at the Fairways, Cranberry's 2-bedroom family townhouses, so we were excited to stay at the resort's new facility on the bay.
We had two teenagers in tow, so they offered us a studio unit with two beds that adjoins to a one bedroom apartment. Both units were well apointed and tastefully decorated. Both had marvellous pillow-top mattresses and great big pillows. The studio had two queen (or were they full?) beds and the one bedroom a king size bed with a pull out queen sofa in the livingroom. The studio had a small kitchenette with a microwave and bar fridge and burners on the counter so that the girls could have snacks or breakfasts in their suite, but all the cooking was done in the luxuriant European-style open concept kitchen in the one bedroom apartment attached. We enjoyed preparing meals in such a lovely kitchen. It had stainless steel appliances -- a built-in oven (could have used a manual for that, but figured essentials out), built-in mucrowave, and a built-in electric stovetop. It. also had a breakfast bar with a huge sink and dishwasher, so clean-ups were a breeze. While the kitchen was stocked with most of the things one needed to cook, we did have to call housekeeping a few times for some pots and pans and a collander. Housekeeping quickly came and brought us the needed items. I guess most guests prepare light meals. We were disappointed that the hotel restaurant wasn't open yet, but we look forward to visiting it on our next stay.
The one bedroom unit had a stacked washer/dryer combo in a closet, which was great and washed & dryed handsomely. We had flatscreen tvs in every room and the open concept living room had an electric wall fireplace which came handy to dry out clothes in front of when back from skiing. The only downside to both units was a lack of storage to put clothes in. We basically had to leave our clothes in our suitcases. In the one bedroom unit, the bedroom had a small closet for hanging a few things but no chests of drawers to put anything away in. There was a big chaise bench in the bedroom that could easily have been where a chest of drawers could have gone; also the night tables next to the bed could have had drawers for putting clothes in since they were very big. And while talking about storage, there was very little of it in the open concept living/dining room area too. There is a wall that could have accommodated something, after all when one comes skiing one has a lot of gear... But besides this we had a great time. The pool is salt water and the girls enjoyed the slide; my husband and I used the fitness facility -- it was very good. The staff was very attentive and courteous; we would definitely come again.

We completed a last minute time share exchange to the Living Water Resort, part of the Cranberry Resort facilities in Collingwood. They are located right on Georgian Bay and I was impressed by the excellent facilities that we had throughout out stay of a week over New Years.

Initially we went to the hotel portion of the resort but were quickly directed across the street to the Living Water. As we entered the lobby, a staff member came up and greeted us with a cup of hot cider and chatted us up. Check-in was quick and we were able to find our room with ease.

We had a one-bedroom with the most comfortable bed ever in the huge master! As you walk into the room, a fully equipped kitchen leads into an open-concept dining/living room. A sizable balcony provided awesome sunsets. A cheater en-suite with a huge shower, washer/dryer closet and plenty of storage completed these great facilities. A pull-out queen bed was available in the living room as well. A television in each room with HD cable and DVD player are included as well as a faux fireplace mounted on the wall.

We were impressed with the options provided by the resort. A complimentary shuttle service between buildings was offered throughout the day. There were family movie nights as well as "Member Monday's" which included a free breakfast, free snowshoe and/or cross-country ski rentals (with trails right on the property) and a wine & cheese reception.

There are technically three different restaurants throughout the property: the one in the Living Water is not operational. In the hotel property they have a lounge and upscale dining.

Going to the pool? Be sure to go to the front desk to exchange your room key for a pool key. Change facilities are provided as well as 2 lifeguards! Sweet! The pool is 4-foot deep salt-water based pool with a water slide as well as both an indoor and outdoor hot tub. If you are going to go outside, be sure to bring your key to get back in! You must walk through the main lobby as well as a public access way, so be sure to bring some shoes. The pool is open from 12pm - 10pm most days.

The fitness facilities are well equipped and open reasonable hours of 7:30am - 10pm most days. They also have fitness classes scattered throughout the week as well, including yoga. The arcade was under renovation and we did not have access.

If you would like a view of the harbour, ask for an odd-numbered room. Further, ask for a room on floor 3 or above to negate the smell of the pool and sound of the ice machine.

The only downside that we experienced was how thin the walls were. We could hear absolutely everything in the lock-out attached to our room as well as everyone who walked outside of our room. We had to talk to our neighbours a few times to remind them.

I will definitely go back, perhaps during another season just to experience some hiking or explore the trails a little more. Bravo!

Room Tip: If you would like a view of the harbour, ask for an odd-numbered room. Further, ask for a room on fl...

A beautiful new resort perfect for families that want a kitchen to prepare some meals. Our double suite was so spacious that we were able to entertain friends. The suite was beautifully decorated and very comfortable. The only negatives were the stringent rules to use the pool and the level of housekeeping. The only 10 people in the pool at a time made the pool basically unusable. We had to request housekeeping and the staff tried to accommodate us but there was very little cleaning during our 3 night stay. The hotel staff was pleasant and courteous.

Thank you for this very good review. We are receiving many good comments on our spacious and functional 2 bedroom units. We are excited about showing them off even more in the near future. The pool has just recently opened and we are trying to determine the best possible hours to accommodate our valued clients. I think we are in good shape now and the 100 foot water slide has been an awesome addition for us. We look forward to you visiting us again soon and thanks again for taking the time to post your review.

Opening the door to this fully-equipped, first class luxury suite, the first thing I saw through the living room bay window was an ice-dappled blue Georgian Bay providing a backdrop for a weeping willow tree. The sun's rays made the tree bark glow golden, while the alternating dark and light clouds in the background created just enough tension to make the whole seem a Group of Seven painting. Everything about the place was clean and new. It was obviously designed with a sense of flair, attention to detail, and executed with top notch quality materials and workmanship. The staff was friendly, helpful, and extroverted without being cloying or solicitous. The new bright, spacious Indoor/outdoor pool with waterslide would put any resort in the area to shame, and the fitness centre adjacent to and overlooking it gives an opportunity for mom & dad to work out while keeping an eye on the kids in the pool. That is if the kids are not in the on-site daycare. I took a tour of the complex and was astounded by how the windows all seem to frame painting-like views. Some units have water views on 3 sides. I can't wait to go back in the summer and overlook the lake and the resort's marina. The unit was fully equipped with fridge, full stove, dishwasher, cutlery, dishes, pots, and all the paraphernalia needed to cook a family feast. For adult relaxation there was the bar and lounge area in the lobby area, which features a multi-storey high cascading waterfall. Hallways were wide, elevator was fast, and the all-concrete construction prevented any sound transmission from other units. On the whole, this was the nicest stay I have had anywhere in a long time.

Room Tip: All rooms I saw on tour were suplerlative...

Rest and Relaxation in luxury! My husband and I with our 2 kids (age 19 & 9) stayed for 3 nights at the beginning of December in a 2 bdrm suite. our suite type comprised actually of a1 bdrm with full kitchen, hugh living and dining rm which adjoins to a spacious studio suite with 2 queen beds and a kitchenette. Our teenager loved the modern furnishings. their is a hugh indoor jacuzzi with a pool and a 3 storey water slide and an outdoor jacuzzi. rooftop with mini putting range was closed. Things I like? very spacious suites, plush King bed oh so comfy and the modern chaise and bench in the bedrm . the modern lobby area and the large lobby hang out area. my top favourite is client service.friendly and all out helpful! my entry card did not work and Erin, fiery energetic ball of smiles with the red streak in her hair, went back to my suites to verify cindition of the new entry cards! amazing. Many thanks to Erin S. and the front desk older gent with the white hair and warm smiles whom I bothered at 1:30 am. thank you for making my family getaway a relaxing one. We went up to ski but found the resort so utterly comfortable that we didnt leave to ski afterall! I must also say that I have never seen a resort or hotel accommodation with so many and variety of seating options i the suite. and we travel around canada (2-3 times per yr) and to a diff country 1 -2 times every year.
