We stayed in a 2-bedroom condo unit as an RCI exchange as party of 5 adults. We came for the skiing (downhill and cross-country) and we were not disappointed. The villa was clean, generously appointed and comfortable. The location is excellent: 10 min. from Blue Mountain and the nordic trails at Scenic Caves. For nordic enthusiasts, consider the $25 3-resort trail pass that includes Scenic Caves, Wasaga Beach Blueberry Trails and Duntroon's Highland Centre. If you want the best Blue Mtn lift pass value, buy a 5X7 pass online but you need to buy it before Christmas. Best equip. rental rates: Banff Rentals on Grey County Rd 19. As for the rest of Georgian Manor, we suggest givng it a wide berth. The food is expensive and the hot tub/indoor pool/change rooms are way overdue for a major refurb. Some day, they may even offer recycling facilities; we ended bringing all of ours home. Nearby restaurants: Alphorn (great value and fun) with a beer list you can explore all week. Also, Azzurra on Pine St. in Collingwood for a special night out. Fantastico!

  • Liked — Location, comfortable, well-appointed
  • Disliked — Dreadful indoor pool/change rooms/hot tub; expensive restaurant

WE made the mistake of joining. When we try to book, what we are interested in is unavailable. On top of this we are required to make a maintenance fee payment every two years. We do not recommend this resort. We were informed today that if we did not pay an additional aprox. $6000.00 to change our arrangement to a points system we would loose our privilage to utilize our week for accomodations whatsoever..

We visited after a referral by a friend who is a member and an offer for two "free nights". We were there on Oct. 16th for two night stay. After arrival in a room that was barely tolerable, we decided to stay only one night and took the tour as required in the offer, the next morning. The tour took us to the suites that are available if you become a member and they are very attractive; however, the upgrading of the rooms in the main part of the Manor are just barely acceptable.
Would not recommend these rooms to anyone and it is now three plus weeks later and we are still trying to get our refund of the refundable $59.95 from the group. Promises of a refund "immediately" not kept. Overall not a good experience.

After reading the horrendous reviews on this site I called just prior to our trip to ask questions. The lady candidly told me that the previous reviews were true but that the place had been completely renovated.

I took a chance and accepted the offer to go for a free visit. I was pleasantly surprised to find a lovely room and terrific service. I enjoyed the food at the restaurant as well.

The presentation was alright. I did not buy but I was still treated well. They immediately refunded the $60 payment as promised. I would recommend to anyone with concerns that you call and discuss your concerns ahead of time and give this place a chance. They may have blown it in the past but they are trying hard to win customers now.

My wife and I booked a weekend getaway at this resort two months in advance. Before we headed out I called to make sure that our room would be available to us on those specific dates. They assured us that everything is ok. When we arrived, at 4:00 pm, there check in time, we were told that we would have to wait. It hadn't been cleaned yet. My wife wasn't to happy about this due to the 3 hour drive to get there. She was 6 months pregnant at the time and very tired. We ended walking around the resort for two more hours before we could get into our room. Once we were in our room we noticed the lack of attention to the cleaning and upkeep. There was mould all aound the toilet and bath tub. There was hair and stains all over the bead sheets, I started to wonder if this room had been cleaned at all. The room smelt like urin. The carpet was crunchy and stained. The t.v. only had 4 channels that worked. The soap in the bathroom looked as though it had been used already. I called down to the front desk to let them know that the room they had gave us was very unsanitary and that we wanted to switch. The front desk lady told us that it wasn't posible due to there overbooking She was quite rude and unplesant with us. We ended up sleeping in our spleeping bags afraid that we would catch something from the bed. We ate at the in house restaurant for dinner. Very exspensive for what we got. My wife order the caesar salad which took 25 minutes to come out, it was warm and soggy. I had the soup, way too salty for my taste. The fish was cold, dry and burnt. The pasta was once again way to salty, soggy noodles and cold. It took an hour to receive our entrees. I was'nt ready to order dessert. I didn't want to waste more money in this so called restaurant. The whole time we were there we could hear the cook freaking out yelling and screaming. When we complained about the food the cook came out and gave up a rude look. We went back to our dirty room to watch the fuzzy t.v. During the night we both awoke with very bad cramps. My pregnant wife also got diarea. I truly beleive the we got food poisening from the restaurant but there was now way of proving it. We ended cutting our stay short in this resort, thank god. I was'nt ready to stay there any longer.
