This trip all started with a phone call offering two nights with $40 dinner credit, $30 Marina credit, 1 Scandinavia spa pass ($54) for $99 with tax and I had to do was attend a two hr seminar. So I said why not, and my and BF set on our way. We had read all the reviews on here and were kinda scared it was gonna be a dump but I had found out before that you cant take everyone review at face value, a lot of people are very picky and unrealistic. The ride up was beautiful. When we arrived the lobby was very clean and a very short wait to check in. Our room was in the basement so we kinda freak out that there would be no window, but when we got in the room we were pleasantly surprised. No windows but a two sliding doors to outside so that was more than enough light and air. The room was not that outdated. The bed were comfy and the room was clean. A flat screen tv and a small table with chairs. The only update that is needed is the hallways in the basement as they are dark and need some repair but the rooms are 5/5 for a motel. We explored the property which is huge, tennis, basketball, indoor/outdoor pool, rec center with movies and all the equipment needed to play sports. That night we went out to dinner in town, not much choice but chain restaurant which was a down side as we like to eat at local places.
The second night we ate at the Memories restaurant expecting it to be horrible like the reviews said. The restaurant was nice looking, the menu is $18-25 but with a voucher its not that bad. We ordered the butter chicken $21, seafood pasta $21. They were both fine, nothing to write home about but huge portions and tasted fine esp for $2,taxes, tip. You cant go wrong.
We borrowed a movie from the rec center that night, great selection, recent movies. No DVD player so bring your own.
So Sunday we drove over to the resort that has the time share meetings. We had a very nice lady. We talked about our travels wants, needs and general questions for around 45mins then we went to a room to watch a video talking about the properties. Then we sat down with her again and that when the sales start. She explain the points systems and the prices. At first we kinda sold by the idea of paying a fee and getting 3-5 wks of hotel stay around the world. The first price that was sold to us was 105,000 points for almost 40 grand. When they say we weren't going for that they started to down sell and eventually we said no after much talking. Then they send over the manager to ask u some questions and she then tries to sell you a no contract 2 yr trial where you get a wk at the resort and one week at one their resorts for $1800 we had rd earlier that this scam and alot of problems. so we declined. They were polite and just pushing as that what their job is. It really not that bad if you can stand to be rebuttal continually.
On our last day we went to Scenic Caves, it was really fun, the caves were the best part for $23!!!
