“Good Motel - but has no Deluxe features!!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 27, 2008

This is a motel.. it is down town, close to everything. After that - it is a very basic Motel, basic decoration, clean, scratchy blankets, and plastic trees!!(its true!!)

We booked a deluxe jacuzzi room with fireplace...well it is not deluxe, and with the plastic tree behind the fireplace there is now way you would turn it on!! The bath is in the middle of the bedroom!!

However it was clean, quiet, and suitable for a family!!
We where picking our daughter up from camp - and stayed 2 nights with our kids.. perfect for this - and very well priced.

The location is excellent, and we were offered a room with a jaccussi which was well used after a long day's sightseeing.
The room was a bit dark being in a corner but this also made it very private.
Missed having a pool but the location made up for it.

Stayed here for 2 nights we had no problems booking in very pleasant front desk and helpfull. No sooner had we checked in when a knock on the door from the housekeeper too give us more towels, glasses and mugs as there was 4 of us. We stayed in a suite which had an added bonus of a jacuzzi which was a welcome treat to come back to after out walking in the wet weather we had. Room was large and very clean, the lighting was a bit dim but that didn't bother as out most off the day. All staff were very helpfull and nothing was too much.

The hotel itself was okay. Shortage of towels in the room and the lighting leaves a lot to be desired. Our biggest issue with this hotel was a string of financial transaction errors on the part of the front desk staff that resulted in us being charged $200 over and above the room rate as a result of paying by debit card, as well as them placing a 7 day hold on credit card funds for the amount of the room. The owner was unavailable to speak with us and the only recourse the staff had was to "contact the owner" and have him check into it. I would NEVER stay at this establishment again after spending hours trying to sort out this $360 error on their part!

Stayed at the King William last night. As most of the other reviews said, it is spotlessly clean, very well renovated, priced right for the area and hi season and in Downtown Huntsville. Check in and out were painless and no surprises. It was really great if you just want a place to stay the night. There are no facilities at all - like a pool, gym, restaurant. Just a great room but you are in town for anything else and the beach is a 10 minute drive away. If you have a chance go to Port Sydney to enjoy the falls at the dam. The kids had an awsome time on the rocks playing in the natural whirlpools, its about 15 minutes drive away and unsupervised. Great way to cool off for a few hours and have a picnic.

  • Liked — very clean and well renovated
  • Disliked — no pool, no breakfast, no restaurant, no activities
  • Tips/Secrets — don't pay for wireless internet access, there were many open connections available for free

Have been to this area now on several occasions both in the summer and the winter. The location of this outstanding motel is right bang in the centre of town and offers free parking which there is plenty of. Rooms which we have had are excellent very very very clean, modern, well appointed and spacious. Also we have had a room which had a fire place and jacuzzi bath vert good for both the summer and winter months. Finally the staff and owners all very helpful and willing to provide us with any info which would assist our stay in the area. DO not stay anywhere else!!!!!!! Make sure you visit the local pub The Docks where you will meet locals and have good food.

We highly recommend this outstanding motel. And look forward to staying here again.

We just returned from staying at the King William Inn. It is a privately owned Inn on the main street of Huntsville. Almost everything you need is within walking distance...groceries, a "Dollar" store, liquor/beer store, wonderful downtown restaurants, shopping etc. etc. The room was spotless. We had a standard room which had a queen size bed and a double bed. Total for 2 nights $168.00. Microwave available for you to use, ice, hairdryer and cold cold cold delicious water from the tap.We found the best restaurant which is a short drive along the main street called Westside Fish and Chips. Everything is home made. Go there for breakfast lunch or dinner 7 days a week. Family owned, spotless great view of the river- a must for good home cooking! In both of these places we were made to feel they couldn't do enough for us! Go to both for good old, small town Ontario, hospitalty!
