We love the area - very beautiful. Hotel has lots of facilities and in general you won't want for anything. Just think that for the opulence of the resort that they have some serious thinking to do. You can certainly have a great time here but you really have to question whether you're getting a "five star" or "four star" experience. If you read the reviews, I think it's safe to say that this is the common thread.
What we found:
- No answer at room service for our entire stay. Not exaggerating either. They operate on a pageing system apparently.
- 2 hours for room service to arrive.
- Room service orders were wrong. Missing muffins, side orders. Food quality was lacking.
- Lost power to part of our room on our final day.
- Staff in general don't seem to have that service "oomph". No opening doors or greeting you. Not a big deal but it is of course the stuff you expect when you stay at "Deerhurst".
Like I said, you could still have a good time here but it's the extra stuff that you come to a higher end resort like this for.
It's too bad - this place has such great potential - service doesn't cost money to fix - just need someone to re-energize the place perhaps?!?
