“Nice Surprise”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 9, 2013

We booked a number of rooms here in June for a wedding and I was pleasantly surprised. Very clean rooms which looked like they had been recently painted. Basic kitchenette had what was needed including a small fridge, stove top and sink as well as dishes. Owners were very accommodating and friendly. There probably would be enough room to put in 2 queen size beds as I found the doubles a little small. We will return again and use this as a base to explore the area.

Room Tip: Rooms 23 to 27 have a deck behind the room with chairs to sit outside.

I have stayed at the Tulip a couple of times now and have enjoyed my stay each time. I have stayed in room 22 and found no problems with it at all. My last stay was in room 17 and once again no problems. The staff are very friendly and the location is as my title says very quiet. They are located right on the Big East River and have several walking trails to pass the time away. There are countless photo opportunities if you are so inclined. They are close to all that Huntsville has to offer yet far enough away to avoid the hustle and bustle of the town in peak summer vacation time. I have stayed here in the spring and the fall and will not hesitate to stay here again. On this particular trip my brother and his companion were with me it was his first stay here and he was very impressed with the room (22) and the cleanliness. They also enjoyed the quiet location and the walking the trails along the river. They also would not hesitate to stay here again.

We have stayed in room #22 a couple of times and although the mattress is a bit soft in the centre it certainly is not unbearable. There are extra fluffy pillows to use as well. We use the inn as a home base to travel into Algonquin and Arrowhead Parks etc. We just left the inn (end of April) and intend to return.

Room Tip: If you are travelling with 4 or more I would suggest the cottage.

After reading the many positive reviews and dealing with a lovely staff member on the phone, felt confident booking a room at the Tulip Inn this week (April, 2013). I didn't expect anything more than a clean, simple room - my expectations were fair. Unfortunately we did not check the mattress on the bed until after we returned from a late dinner ..... I have NEVER seen a mattress of such poor quality and pillows that were so old they were little more than the deoth of a towel folded over. It was after the office was closed and we were exhausted so decided to try our best to sleep. Suffice it to say that if we had our sleeping bags with us, we would have moved to the floor. Instead we tossed and turned for a couple of hours and then packed up and left at 2 am after no sleep! Beware - staff IS nice - but beds are AWFUL! A call to the motel to discuss was made and I have not heard back from the owner.

Room Tip: Room 22 to be avoided at all costs - but doubtful other mattresses are any better!

I've stayed at the Tulip Inn several times and keep going back. If you're cross-country skiing or hiking at Arrowhead Provincial Park, the Inn is very close to it. In fact, it's just down the road from the main entrance! My friend and I usually book a room with a kitchenette which includes a mini-fridge, electric stove, coffee maker, kettle, pots and pans, dishes and microwave. The rooms are simple, but clean and meet our needs. There is free WI-FI for the guests and towels are changed and beds made daily. The staff is very friendly and very helpful! If there is anything they can do to make your stay more pleasant or comfortable, they are there to help!

Will most likely stay there again on another ski trip! Looking forward to it! Thanks for your hospitality!

We have stayed at the Tulip Inn several times and in all seasons. We were first attracted to it's location just outside of Huntsville, ON and that they accepted our dog as a welcome guest. We keep coming back for the clean, well supplied rooms, friendly staff and owners and proximity to Provincial Parks and attractions. We have recommended the Tulip Inn to many of our friends and acquaintances and we recommend you stay there too.

Very convenient location next to Arrowhead park. Our visit was in March 2013, it was very cold but the landscape was beautiful. At the tulip inn, very friendly staff ( as soon as they saw our little boy, they offered a sledge too, free of charge). The room was spacious, warm, very clean, with a great view and also a little squirrel who's used to visit us on the decking! The price we paid was very good value for the service received. We would definitely stay there again if we were passing by in the future.

Room Tip: All the rooms looked good, don't think you can go wrong. Free wifi too.
