“Delta Kitchener scores with big kids too”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 26, 2013

We recently were guests at the Delta Kitchener & were pleased with all the recreational activities available to us. We were in Kitchener to pick up our son & his girlfriend for his birthday & to bring him back to Ottawa for his University Reading Week. The four of us swam, used the hot tub, & played squash the first night. After breakfast/brunch. the next morning, we continued to play. We bowled, used the mini putt & played ping pong. For any family or sporting team away to Kitchener/Waterloo for tournaments -- this is the place for you. And other guests are happy too -- less hall hockey on floors by younger kids -- the kids can use the facilities with adult supervision.

“Comfortable, reasonable, good location.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 22, 2013

Nice underground and valet parking. Friendly staff. Large room. Excellent amenities. Very clean. Bed reasonably comfortable. Heat in room was impossible to control though and seemed to be either too hot or too cold. Needs to be updated to digital controls. Other guests in our group did indicate that theirs was digital. Wifi worked pretty well. The in-room coffee was decent for hotel standards. Lots of small shops and etc within walking distance, but it was too cold during our visit to explore them.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with digital temp control.

“Not competitive”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed February 22, 2013

I was quite disappointed with my stay. Rooms are small and rather outdated. Mattress was the worst I had in a long time. And the security personel was insultingly rude.
Saving grace: the breakfast buffet is very nice and has a good selection.
In summary: go elsewhere - you will find much better value.

“No complaints -- a good hotel!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 9, 2013

I stayed here for a weekend in late January while attending a day conference at the University of Waterloo.

There wasn't much that I noticed about the hotel at first except for the ostentatious Octoberfest souvenir shop right next to it. It's an easy place to get to in uptown Kitchener-Waterloo.

The staff at the front desk were chill and helpful, and I liked the simplicity of the lobby. You can get a variety of snacks and stuff right when you walk through the front door.

The main hotel restaurant where we had breakfast had a very satisfying buffet (delicious Belgian waffles, if I may say so myself) for around $12 a person, for the full hot and cold buffet.

The beds were comfy, the bathroom quite clean and spacious. I couldn't figure out how to unplug the bathtub at first, but it turns out you have to press down (or lift?) on the silver stopper so that it looks like it is stuck vertically in the drain hole (like a coin) and that way the water can drain down either side of it.

The view from the hotel isn't very pretty -- mostly industrial. However, it's a quick 5-10 minute drive to uptown KW where all the nice shops, cafes, and restaurants are. A friend of mine who lives in Waterloo recommended City Cafe but we never got there.

It's a nice small hotel with a full fitness room, sauna, swimming pool, free parking and conference rooms included.

“Decent stay, would be nice in good weather.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 25, 2013 via mobile

Stayed here last week during a cold snap. Underground parking was nice to avoid cleaning the car off. Check in was easy, staff was very friendly. The room was a bit cold when I arrived and heating was only available half he year and cooling the other half, no exact temperature control. I turned on high heat but I don't think the room warmed up at all. It was tolerable and I wore a sweatshirt to bed. The room was spacious, the bed was very comfortable. Wifi included which is nice. The hallways needed some redoing but they were brightly lit and very wide I found. I found the bathroom products great but the bathroom dated. The bathtub looked a little worse for wear.
Breakfast was good, the buffet was excellent for $12. I expected it to be much more but it had tons of stuff for that price including eggs Benedict. Check out was easy and there seemed to be a lot in the area around the hotel but it was too cold to venture out. I would recommend if you want things within walking distance.
